Brilliant win by the Lionesses, that never say die spirit that has been there since game 2 of the tournament has seen them incredibly retain their crown when multiple times they looked dead and buried. As we all know in football the best footballing team do not always win. Spain were the better footballing side but a mixture of poor finishing and excellent defending by England made sure we were still there to take it to penalties. I must admit my heart sunk when the first one had to be retaken and the retake was saved but what was i worrying about. Up stepped the brilliant Hampton to make those saves and then the star girl Chloe Kelly stepped forward to blast the last spot kick home and send millions around the country into delirium. WOW what a womens team we have, couldn't be prouder of them.

Yes fair enough, but at least they kept it under wraps until they’d won it. It’s the mindless jerks who start trotting it out at quarter finals and even in group stages that get on my tits.

If you count all the adult trophies starting in 2009 I make it 36 trophies. Including 5x Champions League (Lyon & Barcelona), 4x WSL (Liverpool, Man City & Chelsea), plus Euro 2022 & 2025 and a World Cup final.

She appears to have done all of this whilst being continuously injured; surgeons advising her that she would need to retire at 27. She is 33.

She grew up on Lindisfarne island with a Portuguese father and speaks 4 languages. She was county champion at tennis, hockey and football. She also made national finals at pentathlon and cross country. Oh, and she is AuDHD too.

After the win when she was dancing on one leg with her injured knee raised she would have been bouncing on the leg with the fractured tibia...
