Mayenda Neil of Sunderland look decent. Sunderland have turned up more today than they did last week. Their players have apent a lot of time on the floor and in the officials faces. They’ve run out of players to be booked now so it’s eased up. 😂

Was he at saints before arsenal?

He actually was.... albeit very briefly. He broke his ankle while playing as a trialist for our academy years ago. He got turned down by us, Norwich and Reading, if I remember rightly (I might have the other two teams wrong) and then ended up rehabbing and fighting his way back in at Arsenal and getting a pro deal

I know some people don’t like the playoff games but they just serve up absolutely fantastic matches so often, as well as keeping far more teams in a fight for something to play for far further into the season.

I do think they could make it fairer on the teams finishing higher by making it 5th vs 6th, followed by the winner of that playing 4th, followed by the winner of that playing 3rd.

It’s the same number of fixtures, albeit with trickier scheduling.

At least we get rid of another Northern team to the Premiership

Yep, better news for our travelling fans, so Sunderland going up from that point of view.

Just a shame Hull and Preston scraped by and three ‘southern’ teams dropped out the other end.

And if Sheffield United win then another team with parachute payments.

Yeah if Sheff Utd join Burnley going up and Luton having gone down will that just leave us, Leicester and Ipswich in receipt of parachute payments in next seasons championship?

I agree. the playoffs have more plusses than minuses, ( the Championship promotion race would have been finished months ago without them, which is  tough on Sheff Utd of course) but they should definitely  be rebalanced  in favour of the best placed sides. other  non league divisions do variations on this.

Yep, I think so.  Would be interesting to see how many seasons there's only been 3 teams with parachute payments.  Can't be many.

What happens to Ben Bereton Diaz if Sheffield Utd win the play off. Do they have a commitment to buy him?

I'd imagine they'll be trying to get out of that deal.

No. Option to buy only.

Nathan Jones looking absolutely deranged on the touchline for Charlton.

The fittest manager in Europe seems to have sprained his finger. Possibly by pointing too vigorously.

He did NOT enjoy that free kick wasted straight behind the goal. Most of the play off ties have been exciting but these two ties so far…er not.

Thierry Small looking lively though, Charlton’s best player

EDIT: And Jones immediately subs him off

I only watched the first 60 minutes or so, Small was quick and involved but didn’t seem to have any idea what his end product should be. Very wasteful.

Cameras on Nathan at the end. Going ballistic over everything, barely coherent, on his knees praying before the whistle and then doing a Ralph. It clearly means so much to him, but it can't be good for his wellbeing.

Yeah. You can’t question his passion but whoever thought he had the temperament to be a premier league manager needs their head examined. How can you expect to keep your players calm and focused when you’re melting down like that over everything

Coming back from injury tbf.

Jones is a nutter though. What Ankerson was thinking is beyond logic that he’d be able to cope in the PL.

I still prefer him to the two that immediately followed him. I would have him over Martin any day.

That’s not just a low bar, it’s no bar. Martin has been found out which is why we’re still paying him. Idiotic to have turned down West Brom. Best chance he has is one of City’s coaches leaving,

Funnily enough, the odds for him to be West Brom's next manager have just been slashed...

Their forum is saying that but having turned it down in December, I can’t see him going there now. Norwich don’t seem to be considering him, Leicester who knows and Rangers strongly linked with Ancelotti Jr.

Pleased to see Orient win on pens last night, ensures at least one more southern team will be promoted up to the Championship next season

1966 and 78 played at Orient to seal promotion. An omen for next season if they make it?

I think so, fixtures are released in June, if we have Orient away end of season it would be reasonable to assume promotion is assured

I see Mad Nate's at it again. Embarrassing in the extreme. "Nurse, he's out of bed again".

You can't tell me this isn't comedy of the highest level , and yes if he gets them promoted I guarantee he'll win at St Mary’s
