Sergei Gotsmanov Posted December 6 Posted December 6 With the creativity in the team now his pace should mean he is a twenty goal a season striker in the championship. I had not appreciated this. I hope Tonda noticed.
ErwinK1961 Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Former Villa player puts in a shift against Birmingham. Let’s see if he brings the same attitude to other matches. Based on what we’ve seen so far, I’m not holding my breath. 3

Ex Lion Tamer Posted December 7 Posted December 7 Now we have a manager who can get the team performing without a big target man, hopefully he can get a tune out of Cam. There's talent there

I’m surprised some are enthused by his performance yesterday. In fairness he did bring a bit of needle to the game from a local West Midlands grievance and more willingness to run than often seen but no surprise he ballsed up his decent chance which his pace had helped create. Didn’t do enough to take himself out of the ‘waste of money, waste of space’ category in my book.

Fast, but that just means he gets to miss sooner than if he didn't have any pace.

I have to disagree because I saw signs that made me think he'll do much better under Tonda and we need to factor in that he hasn't played much. I'd like to cut him some slack and see how he does in the next few games. 1

His lack of physical presence is a huge hindrance - same size as Arma but offers nothing against a CB. Mind blowing that we turned to him after missing out on Delap last summer, what on earth was the profile we were looking for if we ended up in that position - presumably ‘young and English’ was the only specification, couldn’t get two more different forwards.

He was anonymous when he came on today. I know Cov were playing a compact deep defensive shape by then, but he was appalling. Did nothing of any note whatsoever. Despite very occasionally showing a decent finishing ability, he's been a truly dreadful signing so far. I thought he might fare better in the Championship than he did last season, but if anything he's even worse now having dropped down a level. I'd be looking to ship him out at the first possible opportunity, personally.
dsrdorset Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Archer is total shit. And I think his attitude & effort stinks too. Get rid asap.
S-Clarke Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We've totally ruined this lad, he had a decent enough rep at Sheffield United and Boro before that - but he's now a shadow of that player, looks L1 at absolute best - maybe lower end L1. We'll do well to get rid, it will be loans until the end of his deal. Adds more criticality to the need for us to buy an actual striker though. 1

saintant Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Time to move in on if anyone will take him along with Aribo, Edozie and a loan move for Downs.

The comment about revisiting it was in response to Saintant who suggested he’d seen something in Archer v Birmingham so was prepared to give him longer.
