Being a later round and a Saturday 3pm should help attendance regardless, but having 3 Saturday home games in a row I think they'll have to promote this one quite a bit. 

If both teams need to agree on pricing just be sensible,  £10 adults,  £5 kids and try to fill the ground. 

Burnley are away to Portsmouth the week before , can't see many wanting to do the journey again, they'll struggle to bring more than 1,000.

Plus rightly or wrongly plenty of regulars in the Kingsland would like to sit in that stand , if they had to close one stand do the Chapel. 

Halfway line centre seats offer the best view, in Itchen those are taken by hospitality so why not open Kingsland centre and allow fans the chance to buy there?

Not even just about the money but these games should be about attracting future fans given how unaffordable football is for many these days.

Would cost £70 for a family of four who aren't members to attend this. That's obscene for an early round cup tie against frankly dull opposition.

For those who want to buy a ticket ... I had difficulties accessing the correct page on the southamptonfc website and also with the ticketing app. Whichever link I clicked on a page appeared saying "Error page. Unfortunately, you are not authorised to browse this url". I was about to give up when the correct page suddenly appeared.

I've spent thousands supporting the club since Sports Republic took over, and am not affluent enough to keep pissing good money after bad.

A sensible pricing structure would've gone a long way to bridging the gap. This isn't that.

So yet again the biggest stand,  with I suspect the largest number of season ticket holders, isn't available 'initially' . We're expected to buy seats in the wrong stand, away from our usual neighbours, and if enough of us do, they'll let other people buy our seats instead!

They just don't understand what ordinary fans want do they?

Also the "best" stand as seen by ticket prices for normal games, Itchen is not comparable as centre blocks taken up by hospitality.  

Just vanity trying to make the crowd look bigger to the tv cameras by leaving empty seats out of sight

At that sort of level we’d consider going (three of us), but object to them taking the piss at current prices given the rubbish served up on the pitch. 
 

To charge £20 on top of the season ticket for our crap this season is an insult.

Got our tickets, may see another win and what opponents will be like next season. May as well open all ground as even with half full stands looks better than empty. If the club didn't waste money on over priced players could have subsidised ticket cost. Still our gates much better than others, Sheffield we'd was almost empty

I imagine it's also to do with staffing. If you're only opening 3 stands, and you know you're going to need the Itchen open anyway because it houses all the hospitality etc then it makes sense to close the stand that no-one needs to go into anyway.

The Kingsland has the best views and the majority of the season ticket holders. I went to the Stoke game and sat staring at an empty stand. Very depressing.

Had a look at buying yesterday, but only seemed to be spaces in the ends. Virtually all the Itchen was greyed out, and they've still not opened the Kingsland.  I'll buy if/when they do. let me get into the Kingsland.

There's actually very few general admission seats in Itchen Centre as sections of blocks 5 - 9 are hospitality , it certainly limits the options. Makes the decision to close the Kingsland even more ridiculous , all for the vanity of trying to make the stadium look busier for the tv cameras.

I had a good lock. Availability in the back row in a couple of places and a smattering of single seats. How can that happen when the system does not allow you to leave single seats?

Absolutely. Closing the the Kingsland to save a few quid seems daft. People in corners when they could just as easily be in padded seats on the half way line.  Had a call from hospitality asking if I was interested in £90 seats to look at an empty stand opposite where seats should be a tenner.

A half empty stadium in a city centre on a Saturday afternoon, talk about leaving money on the table. 

They could have got some of our excess players to man the bars. Would Ross Stewart's injuries prevent him from doing that? Surely he has to do some work at some point.

Was 12,000 there for Swansea game. I'd guess after the win last weekend, because it's a better opponent this time, it being Saturday 3pm rather than Sunday 4.30pm and the fact it's not on TV will push it closer to 16k this time around. 

No idea why the club think the stadium being half empty benefits the atmosphere, their finances or the players. Should be £10 for adults, £5 for kids and you'd be looking at closer to 25k attendance.

I could afford it, but with what I've been watching and the prices which are high with no concession decided to give it a miss and make a point in the only way I can. I might spend the ticket price and the cost of getting there on a really nice bottle of wine as I'm entertaining that evening. I'd even be happier if there was a really good offer for kids, who can't get to go much at normal prices.

I'll go and watch the women in March against Pompey instead to improve the atmosphere at that match..

just for context, I went to see Worthing vs Torquay in the FA Trophy 4th round a few weeks ago and it was £17.

And watching us against Ipswich last weekend cost £30 which makes that £17 sound excessive. The money men at the club know their finances, but it's not just the gate receipts. The additional concourse drinks and food must also add to the coffers...and it's difficult to put a value on goodwill and atmosphere.

At non-league level a significant cup run and paying customers can make a real difference to the survival of a club and I completely understand that, however with Saints we're guaranteed £100M+ from tv alone and have an opportunity to use this game to give something back to a fan base sitting through the worst season in our history (points wise) just take a leaf out of Prestons book and fill the ground as much as possible with the next generation , nice touch charging the Grandads and Grandma's a fiver as well
