A fantastic new game that anyone can play after listening to any of Will Still’s press conferences or interviews.
Look out for some of the favourites we’ve heard this season such as:

”The club has been in this position for some time”

”The players are still hurting from last season”

”We’ve had lots of sickness in the squad”

”We haven’t had the players we want to be able to play them in the right formation”

”We’ve had injuries which haven’t helped”

”We’ve been unfortunate in that we’ve dominated games but just not finished them off”

”We’ve had some honest conversations this week”

”We need players in the right place to be able to dominate”

Feel free to join in, or add your own 😂

They would be complete and utter morons to long this one out… and as such, no doubt see you again Saturday Will for another shitshow.

Out of interest, although Solak is ultimately responsible for this total mess, which of his minions do you feel most deserve the anger heading their way?

Solak for me. Ultimately he should have the power and authority to sort this shitshow out. He gets too much of an easy ride as he seems to be putting up the money. Yet on his watch we have got progressively worse, culminating in what we are seeing now.

Not arguing your sentiment, as totally agree, but how is our XG only 1.03. We scored from a one on one, we then had 2 more Armstrong fucked plus the Archer chance from Armstrong cross.

i don't think I understand XG.

XG is expected goals.  Even opta doesn’t expect us to score goals now.

They chalk the Archer ones off because he couldn't score in a brothel with an open cheque book.

AA they only start counting after he's missed at least 3 good chances so, it's about right.

Genuinely at the stage now where I think Mr Anti-football Russel Martin would have more wins and points.

I'm not advocating getting RM back. I just suspect he'd have fluked a few more wins.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Still is so bad people are now looking at Martin in favourable positive terms. This club is an absolute joke

I feel for him, and really wanted him to succeed - and suspect he will in time, somewhere - but everyone who takes this job on also adopts the burden of SR’s failure and becomes their fall guy. They take a very large chunk of the blame for where we are.

I’m not sure what the answer is now, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that Will will not be able to turn this around. I also question if he’s getting enough support from Trollope etc. - are those with experience giving him advice or challenging  some of his decisions? A good #2 should do that.

If he isn’t fired by Saturday, he’ll go after the PNE match - the pressure on that game is now immense - and I’ll put my 1-2 prediction in right now.

I wonder, did anyone at Sports Republic bother to ask if he was actually any good at FM?

He took Woking from the conference to the champions league in six seasons.

And now him and SR are taking us the other way but quicker

Wish they'd pull the plug on Will Still now - Preston is a 'free hit' for a new manager and then the international break comes at a good time.

Edit: I'm on another planet and got the matches completely wrong, ignore me 😂

They did, apparently he took Woking from the conference to the champions league in just six seasons, those sort of things don't go unnoticed Chez

He seems like a decent guy and no doubt he is trying his best, but it's really nor working out. Sheffield United had the balls to drop Selles early doors, we need to do the same. I'd go further and get rid of Llanana and all the coaching staff. If we get a new guy in let him pick his own coaching team. I get it might be cost prohibitive but it really needs to done.

Why do we always get this pony.

Nobody has a fucking clue what sort of bloke he is, and even if he is a “decent guy” that’s the last thing our bunch of Son in laws need. We need  a horrible, unreasonable, intolerant bastard to kick out the soft arses, and get some proper players onboard….

I’m can’t believe he hasn’t been sacked.

Saints board make one shit decision after another.  Keeping Still is another one.  Absolute bunch of clueless idiots.  Dragan’s investment is going down the shitter and to be honest, I couldn’t give a fuck.

They’d have to know what those were first.

Not sure he has the respect of the dressing room. It shouldn't matter too much, but I think because he's not played the game at any decent level has probably gone against him. Does he have the authority within the squad?

Not sure you get that in modern day football anymore. Rightly or wrongly.

I know I'm sounding like a scratched record but it's inevitable that they'll make the same mistake they made last season in that they persevered with Martin until December when it was obvious in October that he was out of his depth....

Oh good, that’s a potential nine points we can fritter away rather than three. Next international break it is then.

Seems a reasonable assumption that’s he’s been successful  in his business career. How has he allowed himself to be taken in by chancers and muppets in running his club ?

I’d expect he’s kicked more than a few arses in his career. Why has that not same discipline not been brought to running SFC ?

Seriously, how the fuck has he not been sacked yet? So many people on here thought he’d be okay when he was appointed, being wowed by his bang average performance in a poor French league and a bullshit appearance on Monday Night Football with a screen and some graphics. Shame he’s so shit in real life and dealing with humans. Sack him now. Don’t put Lallana in charge, and don’t let that Wankersen bloke anywhere near the next appointment - in fact he should go too. A club that still has McCarthy in goal, Stephens with a big new contract, and which relies on the useless Armstrong to fire in goals is a complete and utter laughing stock only going in one direction.

I was shouted down by some happy clappers for suggesting his inexperience meant he would be out of his depth.

why is he building a team around Edwards, Quarshie and Wood, rather than Azaz, Fellows, Scienza and Charles

Yep.

He's got some real midfield talent there. We should be watching entertaining, fluid, attacking football week in, week out.

i don't think I understand XG.

There are people who deliberately refuse to understand XG so this very basic and small explanation will not appease those but a helpful thing to remember with XG is a penalty is generally considered about 0.75/0.8. So given that’s a one on one, stationary shot, no defenders, keeper on his line etc, then one on ones like we had yesterday would be less than that. Also notice footmob have us at 1.67 XG so different sources have us at different figures.

Is it because for two years now everyone, including Adam and Joe, has been moaning about our defensive woes? Those two are proper plonkers

Posted

Still is such a negative manager.  Yesterday he was so desperate to hold onto the lead he took off our best player to put on a 4th central defender and this cost us the game.  He hasn’t got the confidence to use a formation that puts our best players in their best positions and take the game to the opposition; this would be good enough against most teams in this league.  This won’t change anything soon and we need to get rid before belief totally disappears from the squad.

I'm not sure he has lost the dressing room, but they definitely have not bought into his philosophy/tactics.

Isn't that essentially the same thing if they aren't fully on board?

This is just complete and utter bollocks. The only thing that matters in football is getting the round thing in the net and stopping said round thing from getting into your net. For this, you need a good forward and a good keeper, both of which this club has lacked bar one season since SR took over. I don't need fucking stats to tell me that. Expected goals per game? Fuck off
