Jisheng Gao was the death knell really, and once the club was hollowed out SR have done the rest of the demolition. Dragan’s put loads of money in. He’s just allowed most of it to be spent really badly.

Agreed, and that’s on him. We had the facade of change with Kraft going, Spors and new scouting team coming in. More promises of wholesale change but all there’s been is two more kid fringe players and a Brentford right back. Clear and obvious who is still in charge and Solak lets him do it. A lot of people posted saying this summer was SR last opportunity with the bulk of the fanbase and I think things have travelled too far now as they did with Lowe to be reversible. When you see the level of lampooning and piss-taking, and not just from the usual suspects and moaners, sooner or later it’s new ownership time. Edited August 25 by Gloucester Saint 1 1
Saint Gifford Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Martin over Still. I’ll go back to my Dry Martinis. Will is the man, like Ralph was. Just need to thank our lucky stars we have some ability running the team.
Harry_SFC Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Probably about time this thread was closed. Maybe for Benji's sake, we could all forget he ever made it. 6 1

suewhistle Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I just assumed the OP was taking the piss, and I'm still not sure. AlexLaw is a bit of a snowflake so him posting lots of negativity, already, about Still can be taken with a pinch of salt. But if we laugh about the Rangers result tonight we'll be laughing with them (and Swansea) as the man is an utter charlatan and each of those clubs has suffered his monomaniacal inflexibility. 5

You can’t repair the damage that’s been done in just a few weeks over the summer. And it's not just damage to the players, either. Saw my first game at the Dell in 1967 - we beat Chelsea 5-0 - and had been a loyal Saints fan through thick and thin ever since. Frankly, they are of only passing interest now. (And I don't mean Russball style passing) 1
saintant Posted August 27 Posted August 27 You have to feel for Ranger's fans. The majority didn't want him but they tried their hardest to convince themselves that he'd work out ok. Unfortunately the same pattern has been repeated and the exact same sound bites have been heard at press conferences. I have to take my hat off to Russ because, for a guy with little coaching ability, he's fooled a lot of people , conned his way into some good jobs and made a hell of a lot of money. I think that the snake-oil well has now run dry though but he'll probably write a book about his exploits. 1

Last time I was in there, some old scruff was ordering a drink at the bar. Unbeknownst to the bar man, he was Billy Bollocks naked under the bar.
Secret Site Agent Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I'm all in for Still. One of the problems with Russell Martin was he signed all his mate to play for Saints. That wont happen with Will Still. Cause Still is Ginger. And Gingers have no friends!!!!! (Just Kidding) Looking at the transfer market so far, be interested to see what he has in store. So in reality I am holding my judgement but feel a little confident he can pull something off once the dust settles.
