Put in a strong performance by all accounts tonight. Are they really? Seem to have had a good week picking up 4 points away from home, will be interesting to see if they made many changes in those games, they're certainly quite high in the "form table" 1
EssEffCee Posted yesterday at 07:17 Posted yesterday at 07:17 Hope everyone in the front 10 rows is going to sit down as they are told to. Every other away game is fine but you're not allowed to stand at this one. 1
Dr. Kucho Posted yesterday at 08:49 Posted yesterday at 08:49 Pleased with yesterday’s win but Tonda, this is the big one! If like you say you bleed SFC, show it this Sunday. Very much looking forward to Sunday, hope there are streams available. To everyone going, stay safe, try not to touch anything, take hand sanitizer and have fun.

Much of a muchness there If Charles comes in, it should be for Downes The way FD played yesterday he doesnt deserve to be dropped, add to that he has the cahoolies to face up to the intimidation. When Shea came on he looked timid and not up to speed. Played a more forward role. He needs a few cameos to get up to speed. I worry our young players may wilt, but people like Wellington and Jelert seem to have the will to stay calm and not be phased. Just hope Ross cn give 70 minutes, when he went down the crowd were very silent and cheered when he got up and strted running 7
Give it to Ron Posted yesterday at 10:44 Posted yesterday at 10:44 You just know the fight shown last night is a false dawn. At the whistle I thought we might actually turn up and fight get a plucky draw but you know what will happen it’s the hope that kills you. I remember that treacherous bastards game there and the first 26 mins and fear the same on Sunday with this lot. 1
SaintBobby Posted yesterday at 10:52 Posted yesterday at 10:52 Start with Flynn. Consider subbing him after he collects his first yellow. Probably about 2 minutes in. 3
Baird of the land Posted yesterday at 11:50 Posted yesterday at 11:50 14 hours ago, Harry_SFC said: Charles in for Azaz but the rest of the players the same as tonight please. Yep i'd like an extra presence in midfield in what likely to be a physical game, ideally we'd have more of 4-3-3, than a 4-2-3-1. 3
franniesTache Posted yesterday at 13:01 Posted yesterday at 13:01 Before last night i'd made peace with the fact that this would be one of the worst away days ever. The combination of the draconian and idiotic "bubble", the early start and piss take from the club about how we had to get to st mary's so early, the shit looking weather forecast and their hovel's inability to protect you from the elements, and the weak as fuck, no backbone, arrogant, lazy cunts in our team meaning i was expecting a loss, and our piss poor form stinking out the league. But then we somehow find a way to win last night and now i have a glimmer of hope, and that's going to make it so much worse when we lose to these mouth breathing, sister fucking, scabbing, lying, six fingered cunts 4
James G Posted yesterday at 14:04 Posted yesterday at 14:04 I think a basic thing to work on is to face forward when receiving a pass. It was just something I noticed yesterday

Charlie Wayman Posted yesterday at 14:20 Posted yesterday at 14:20 (edited) The best preparation Eckert can do for this derby match is to lower the temperature and take the heat out of the fixture. Derby or no derby it's still only 3 points for a win so no good over-hyping the match as something very important and special in the players' minds. Treat it as any other match and leave the rivalry to the fans. Cool heads will get us over the line. Oh and ffs don't pick Manning! Edited yesterday at 14:21 by Charlie Wayman 3

With all our new plays with no local connection to Saints I don't think they will see this a a local clash and may work in our favour as you say trust if a just a league game. A lot of derby games like our home v Pompey are just drab stale mate football. Liverpool v Everton one was played as just another tactical game.

JP16 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Anyone going on sunday, are you bring a bag bigger than a4 paper? Surely you can bring a backpack with powerbank, water bottle, packed lunch and headphones etc. The website and email just say no prohibited items then proceed to list no prohibited items… Surely we can leave our bags on the coach like any other away game? Making us arrive at 7am for a 30 minute drive and 12pm kick off is half the day wasted so i want to bring something to fill the time. January is obviously tight for money so i don’t want to be forced to buy food and drink out. Im going to ride my pushbike to the ground from swaythling so i want to take my lights off of that and bring them in the bag so they don’t get pinched. Usually id do whatever but I know the stewards and everyone are going to be funny because of the occasion. Also, they mention wanting to leave asap after the game. If we go on to win… we’re all going to be staying in the ground celebrating with the players. Hope they dont try to force us out the ground. They won’t be threatening to leave fr*tton without us will they?

In a classic 4-3-3, before everyone went all double-pivot, Downes sits and Jander and Charles play as 8s supporting defence and attack. Gives us more presence and workrate in the centre of the park than having to carry Azaz as the ghostly 10 who may or may not turn up sporadically, depending on if he feels like it. 1

Think he was doing ok with swindon but tough competition there with ollie palmer and they’re trying to persist with a non league talent in jake tabor. Realistically if he didnt join our set up he’d be close to 100 appearances for reading by now so he must have some pedigree.
Convict Colony Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Last time we won with 4 at the back (oxford in cup) he switched to 3 CBs next game, if he does that again then he deserves to get sacked. That said i think portsmouth are worse than us so i go for 2-1

Convict Colony Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) to be honest that quote doesn't even make sense. "The derby has evolved, players now know what it means to the fans" is he saying 10/20/30 yrs ago the players didn't register it was a massive game cos to be honest I'd say it was completely the opposite. "in pompey football is taken very seriously", well they were relegated from the epl 15yrs ago and been in L2/L1 and now back in championship. If that is taking football seriously then send your CV to sports republic. Only thing taken seriously in Portsmouth is benefits claims and Tesco meal deals. Edited 17 hours ago by Convict Colony 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago To be honest I’m not sure we’ve got the characters in the team to handle the abuse they’ll receive from the unclean masses or indeed the knuckleheads on the pitch. If Cap’n Jack starts as I suspect, we might see a red or a penalty given as his ‘passion’ gets the better of him. If Manning starts they’ll be targeting that side for crosses into the box and our chaotic defence will collapse. We need to hope that Stewart is fit as he’ll be needed in both boxes. And let’s hope the Ref/linos don’t cave under pressure in favour of the fishy few…we’ll need every ounce of help for this one. COYS - smash ‘em…no quarter…attack, attack, attack!
