Personal preference. I'm ap is great but I laugh out loud more at Kmkywap. Particularly the Xmas episode. The radio episodes are also great.

Have you listened to Oasthouse? Very good.

Also, if you've never seen them, I recommend tracking down Mid Morning Matters. Some of the very best Partridge.

The episode with Nigel Lindsay as the former special forces operative in Cheddar Gorge had me in stitches.

Back in the early 90’s I lived with someone whose Dad was one of the principal singers in the Minstrels. When the main show ended he used to tour with another of the main singers using the brand to sell tickets. By then blackface was less acceptable but he said that the audiences used to be disappointed that they didn’t use blackface in the shows. He, personally, couldn’t see the problem with it and saw it as paying homage to the great black singers. Different times. Lenny Henry had his first big break on the show too, although he disassociates himself from it now. She said that the cast used to treat him like family and were upset by his later comments.

Al Jolson was hugely successful in the States and used blackface in his performances. It wasn’t seen as racist at the time and Jolson said that he did it to bring black music to a wider audience. He was against segregated audiences and fought for equal rights for black performers on Broadway. As I said, different times.

I have indeed. I prefer the stuff written by Armando but it's still very funny. I saw he was doing another TV series about mental health. Is that out yet?

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet! I loved that. It had everything, humour, pathos, hope and despair. Bernard Hill was brilliant as Yosser Hughes. "Gis a job. I could do that".

Boys From The Blackstuff was another excellent bit of TV.

Succession is one of the most overrated series of all time. Ok but fuck me the gushing is over the top. Jesse Armstrong excellent writer - couldn’t see anyone mentioned Peep Show

Some great stuff on here, on top of these going to say X-Files, really enjoyed it back when it first come out, as usual with yank stuff they made too many but remember the first 4 or 5 seasons were good. Plus Scully was good eye candy.

Remember watching it when it first came out on BBC2. Brilliant

Seeing news that the actress who played Joan has just died, I can’t believe I left Early Doors of my list. Probably suffered from being Royal familyish (another great series I missed off). It was a brilliant show, but unlike the Royal Family it finished at the right time, and didn’t over stay its welcome.

I saw a stage production of this a few years ago. A brilliant evening. Mrs Tame had never seen the tv series but found it hilarious. 

Craig Cash apparently based the characters on people he knew. I know 2 ex policemen from Stockport and they claim that one of their ex work colleagues was even more outrageous than the bent coppers Phil and Nige!!
