Oisin Posted yesterday at 06:53 Posted yesterday at 06:53 What an amazing run we’ve been on - to guarantee a playoff spot with 2 games to spare was unthinkable for mucH if the season, even just a couple of weeks ago. And we are still unbeaten, in a cup semi-final and I’d still have us favourites to go up, albeit through the playoffs now and not automatically. I think I want Millwall to go up rather than Ipswich, especially as it will be replacing Spurs or West Ham. That’s going to be hilarious. I honestly think whoever falters out of Ipswich or Millwall will mentally struggle in the playoffs. I’d worry more about whoever sneaks 6th. For us now we can just enjoy Saturday, ruin things for Ipswich and give the away fans a great send-off at Preston before getting set to go again. Lots to enjoy still 5
Dr Who? Posted yesterday at 06:54 Posted yesterday at 06:54 I hope we stay where we are in 4th, as it looks like we will be playing Boro, presuming they will beat Wednesday tonight. This will mean an away leg on a Saturday lunchtime at Boro. Home leg following Monday. If we get to the final I think it will be Millwall or Ipswich. Hoping Millwall. Play-off semi-final first legs 6th vs 3rd - Friday May 8, kick-off 8pm 5th vs 4th - Saturday May 9, kick-off 12.30pm Play-off semi-final second legs 3rd vs 6th - Monday May 11, 8pm 4th vs 5th - Tuesday May 12, 8pm Play-off final Saturday May 23, Wembley Stadium

Great effort from where we were in January. Also have that Very familiar feeling of Bazunu costing and hindering us, even when he’s playing for someone else. He’s like a turd that won’t flush. Hopefully hold on to 4th and play 2nd leg at home, away leg on a Saturday would be better for travelling as well. 2
Kenilworthy1959 Posted yesterday at 07:21 Posted yesterday at 07:21 Here is a controversial suggestion. I wouldn't want to have to play Ipswich in the play-offs. So how about we don't try too hard next Tuesday? Although that does take the entitled position that we would win the semi-final. 1

Getting a home second leg is much more important than trying to be too clever about who we might face in the final if we get there. 6

Ipswich have been struggling for form and have had quite a bit of luck lately. I think I'd be more confident against them, to be honest. 4

Big disadvantage for the team in 5th having to play their home leg at lunchtime, whilst every other match should be a lively evening atmosphere.

Normally they have both the first legs on the weekend, surely makes more sense doing it that way. Hopefully we finish 4th as don't fancy the trek to Boro on a Friday night.

LGTL Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Praying we get 4th, not just for the home leg second, but also having the away leg on the Saturday. No way can I get to Boro on a Tuesday, and I’m sure that’s true for many, so here’s hoping.
Britannia Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Selfishly I hope we get 3rd or 4th because I can't make the dates or the first legs.
Pamplemousse Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I'm not giving up hope just yet. If Charlton or West Brom beat Ipswich before we play them on Tuesday then as long as we win that, it's guaranteed to go the final day. And obviously a Leicester win helps as well on Friday against Millwall. Obviously the chances are slim but you never know.
Dr Who? Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Ipswich winning I see. Still if we beat them and they slip up we could catch them, but they beat us on GD. I still think Millwall will win their last 2 and will be ready for the Ipswich slip, nothing we can do about Millwall if they keep going!

Their tough game on paper is West Brom at the weekend. Would need to hope they lose by a couple of goals, then we beat them by a couple on Tuesday night. 1

die Mannyschaft Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago 16 minutes ago, Dr Who? said: That’s the spirit. Still think Millwall are ready to steal though if Ipswich slip! Millwall have got relegated Leicester and Oxford you couldn't have an easier last two games to secure 2nd.

Dr Who? Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Right… Ipswich lose at WBA by 2, and Millwall lose at Leicester. We beat Ipswich by 2. We beat Preston on the last day 2/3-0 and Ipswich only win by less. We go up, 2nd on goal difference on the same points 82 as Ipswich and Millwall. If not the playoffs it is! All fun and games! 1 3

More likely Ipswich will come to us knowing a win for them will as good as promote them with their goal difference. Our aim now has to be to try to stay ahead of Middlesbrough and get that home 2nd leg 3

Eire Saint Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Watford have only picked up one point in their last 5, so we're likely to be in 5th when we play Ipswich. That game will probably determine our home/away order in a playoff vs Boro.

Dark Munster Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 4th and home advantage is very much in our hands. Hats off to Sheff. Wed. for putting up a good fight and only losing by the one goal. I was worried Boro would score a hatful and catch us on goal difference.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Millwall in the semis I think we’d struggle, Millwall at Wembley I think we’d win. Alternatively, if they go up automatically and Ipswich are in the play offs I fancy us against anyone. 1

Football Special Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Looking at remaining fixtures i think play offs will be Wrexham v Millwall Southampton v Middlesbrough With Millwall and Middlesbrough being home in 2nd legs

Don't want Milwall or Ipswich until the final and there is a scrap for sixth, so whoever finishes there will be the form team out of that Wreham, Hull, Derby mini league.

Even though Wednesday are sat down there with no wins in what feels like years, they've always put up a fight in every game I've seen them play. They don't really have a squad, but they've always given it a go. Definitely deserve credit, they've gone down with a bit more dignity that Leicester weirdly. I guess their target is a win in the next two, just so they don't finish the season on negatives.
