Really? People around us were commenting on how he was getting up close to Stewart when we had the ball and working hard to get back in between Bragg and Jander when we didn't have the ball. He won a bunch of little flicks and 50/50s by getting stuck in. Didn't think he was a passenger at all today, to be honest (although he does have days where the game passes him by, but I think that's most No. 10s apart from the very, very elite ones)

If you want Azaz at his on-the-turn long range glory, you take him warts and all.

Those that criticise him will lament his loss when he's gone.

Agree with this, thought today was one of his better games (much like the whole team). Couldn’t fault him at all

He's a proper baller with a razor sharp brain. These type of players will always have periods when not seeming to affect games especially against a side like City where you don't have much decent possession. He still came up with most of our good moments and scored a superb goal to send every Saints fan into raptures.

Under Still, I thought he was a very hot and cold player. I didn't think he was great and the effort wasnt there.

However that was indicative of the whole team. 

However feel that he has really come on in the second half of the season in what he does for the team and all round play.

He is a baller. He goes missing, he tries stuff that doesn't come off, but he is always creative and gets loads of goals and assists. 

If he was consistently in the games he'd be worth £100m. He's not, so he's not.

We had 31% of the ball, what exactly did you expect him to do for the other 69% of the time? 

He was involved in everything good we did going forward.

Whilst most people going for jander who was obviously great. for me I’d probably give it to azaz . Absolute worldie goal and not only that the disallowed Leo goal was all down to his play and perfect as usual through ball .. didn’t he also put fellows in on goal too ?  I said before I think he’s probably better suited to when we are playing on the break so could actually be a real star for us in the premiership

Nice to see azaz back doing azaz things at the Weekend .. honestly struggle to think of anyone that can split defences with the through balls like he does.. he can be slow he can go missing but he’s really got a world class attribute with the way he can put people in with perfectly weighted balls

He’s the sort of player I love. In a world where everything is about pace and power it’s great to see a player who doesn’t fit that mould doing well. He’s got class a guile and as you say can unlock defences. He won’t be brilliant every game but if he was he wouldn’t be playing for us but some of his contributions last season were wonderful. First I saw him live at a game as Hull when the team was absolutely shit and he got a lot of criticism but I could see them every time he got the ball He was trying to make things happen but others either weren’t on his wavelength or not set up to do it

Yeah agree he’s kinda perfect for us .if he was too silky or good running with ball we would lose him in a second ..but he’s got a kinda unique profile of looking like a slow championship player but with world class passing and vision

100%. I think he's one of our most important players. He's definitely the one you're urging everybody to get the ball to.

I've always really liked Azaz, but he's one of those players who some fans will always label lazy as he can hang on the edge of games. But that's what these sorts of players do, they can sometimes have 1 or 2 moments in a game and that's often enough to win you a game. 

He's seen as a Tadic style player by some supporters, I remember being surrounded by people in the stands who used to berate Tadic as being lazy - but they're totally missing the point.

Yep, used to annoy the hell out of me when people used to argue that Tadic should be dropped whenever he had a not so good game. Another quality player with superb vision and ability to produce moments to create goals and win games, like Azaz does at the level we play at now. These are the players that make me want to go to games, but some fans just don't seem to see it! (or don't accept that what they do won't come off 100% of the time).
