Football Special Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 Is he missing have Bednarek alongside him? Always seemed to play better with him

I thought he'd be a crap signing for us but tbh he wasn't that bad when he played last season in the Prem and has probably been our best CB so far this but finds himself on the bench. On current form he's a better option than both THB and Stephens. He’s the physical sort of player you need in this league, he needs a run of games. 2

Andrew Watson Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 As others have said on here, it is a real shame that Roy Keane does not tell him that his performances are no where nearPremier league standard and if truth be known they are not good enough for the championship either. 2
Tamesaint Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 He never had a proper pre season and was rushed back into the team at the first opportunity. I am not sure if this explains his appalling performance yesterday but perhaps he needs time out of the team so he can do whatever he should have done in pre season. I do not want to see his name on the team sheet for the Boro match .

Not singling you out here but I've seen a number of people say many variants of this. Football is the one thing the players excel at (relative to the general population). They are coming off of a year where they were told every week, they are shit and don't deserve to be at the level many of them have dreamed of being at for their entire careers. For some of them, it will probably be their last time ever being at that level and they know it. It's easy to dismiss the psychological factor but you have never been in that environment. 1

Verbal Kint Posted 22 September, 2025 Posted 22 September, 2025 Both him and Stephens are completely incapable of dealing with any sort of physicality or balls in the air. Struggling with Kieffer Moore and McBurnie isn't straight forward I can accept, but they got bullied by Bishop as well who is 5ft 11 - what's the excuse there? It won't matter if we play a back 4 or a back 3 if they're in the team, as they aren't capable of doing the basics of defending. Even in our promotion team we conceded 60+ goals. Good teams are built on a strong spine, particular the CBs and GK, and we've got Bazunu, Stephens and THB filling those spots. Drop them all 2
Saint NL Posted 6 November, 2025 Posted 6 November, 2025 What's up with this guy? Last night he was misplacing passes all over the place, he looks a shadow of his former self. Does the club have a psychiatrist or something to try and find the cause? It doesn't look to be a physical issue but more of a mental one.

OldNick Posted January 30 Posted January 30 THB wanted by Everton, according to football insider, probably nonsense
Willo of Whiteley Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I can see him moving back up north in the summer.
die Mannyschaft Posted January 30 Posted January 30 WHU loan deal rejected so £100 to £350 plus a Cortina with MOT from the londeners and SR will accept. One talks and deals havd started players will be off. Their not getting to Prem with Saints that's for sure.
benjii Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Ropey first half of the season but he's been great for the last couple of months. Proper captain's performance today. 4
RedArmy Posted March 8 Posted March 8 He’s always been better in a back 4. Back to his best for sure. 7
Tamesaint Posted March 8 Posted March 8 He was injured against Everton at the end of last season. He would have been unavailable all summer and was probably brought back too early. He is now showing his true ability as he is up to match sharpness. 1

AlexLaw76 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Looks back to normal when not asked to play right side of a back 3... But, formations do not matter, right? 4 1
Graziano94 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago What’s all the noise from the game today? Seeing a lot of fans wanting him banned from the final

The same Ayling that kicked the shit out of us all night got away with it 2
HarvSFC Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Ayling's always been a bit of a cock. Has that passive aggressive smirk almost every game. Goes up and gives a bit to THB and when THB replies he goes crying to the ref. If he did take the piss out of his speech, I don't think that's ever been a red card? On a separate note, THB has been class since Eckert took over. The player I had hoped we signed when he initially joined as quite a coup. On the ball and defensively he has been top and will have definitely attracted suitors for this summer if we don't go up. 7

wild-saint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 6 minutes ago, Dman said: Obviously we don't know what was said, but I think he'll almost certainly get a ban Unless the ref heard it which of course didn’t then they really can’t ban someone on the claims of boro players who have been beaten in a play off semi. If he is banned then I’m sure we would appeal so it moves into the new season. 1
egg Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 6 minutes ago, Dman said: Obviously we don't know what was said, but I think he'll almost certainly get a ban Agreed. If he's mocked a "disability", that's probably a ban in 2026 Britain. 1

Hussar Saint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If he said to Ayling what is alleged, I fear we lose THB for the final which will be a massive blow and would put another big brown skid mark on what has otherwise been a brilliant half season.
egg Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 1 minute ago, Whitey Grandad said: Only two people know what was said. Without an independent account they are uncorroborated accusations. Wasn't there what looked like an apology in the 2nd half. If THB did say something, he'd have been better advised to do nowt and leave it as one person's word against the other and receive the benefit of the doubt. An apology reduces doubt. 2
VectisSaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Seemed quite pally in the second half, sharing a laugh and a joke, suspect THB said something that was misconstrued by Ayling and they sorted it out between them. 2
egg Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just now, VectisSaint said: Seemed quite pally in the second half, sharing a laugh and a joke, suspect THB said something that was misconstrued by Ayling and they sorted it out between them. It could be that, or it could have been a discriminatory remark with an accepted apology. The latter wouldn't rule out a charge I'd imagine.

Mboto Gorge Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Christ, this lot have to be the biggest victims ever. Quite embarrassing and desperate especially by Ayling who’s a total shithouse and is clearly big and tough enough to not let that affect him, but again it all comes down to their sense of injustice so they’re trying to claim anything and everything to discredit us. Not saying THB didn’t say anything, but Ayling getting all butt hurt is hilarious with the amount of shit he dishes out each game. Pathetic Edited 1 hour ago by Mboto Gorge
Mboto Gorge Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago As for their manager milking it yet again in his post match interviews having been beaten fair and square, absolutely nauseating whiny football club 3

Since going to a back four, he has been brilliant. Commands the central defence and unlike Wood (who treats the ball like a hot potato and passes sideways all the time), THB has gone from long floaty passes forwards to being instrumental in starting some of our best moves either through defence splitting fast passes or by moving the ball down the wing really quickly. He's apparently on £400k per year. When you've got Archer, McCarthy, Azaz on £2m+ a year, this lad needs looking after. 3
