Non-league is a broad term. It depends on what level.

I've no issue with Saints fans being happy with the pricing and renewing. Personally, I think SFC have a bit of a nerve putting their prices up and I feel "rising operating costs" is not justification when everyone knows that player wages are where the money really goes. 

That said, moaning about pricing achieves nothing. It's a football business and they will charge what they want. The only way to push back against rising ticket prices is to not buy a ticket. I appreciate that is not an option for many. I was exactly the same. And that's what I mean about being a football mug. We are not discerning customers.

The first 4 of your 5 points all come down to expenditure, and as the club have wasted money on the wages of Gavin Bazunu, Damien Downs and a 2 year contract extension for Alex McCarthy to the tune of 40k a week then no I don’t buy this line that the fans should have to foot the bill for your points you raised, especially as the increase in ST prices amounts to about £550k in total. Let’s not forget the club wasted approx £825k in paying the wages of Oriol Romeu to do fuck all for 7 months, and paying off the contract of yet another failed management experiment, so cry me a river about “inflation”.

Lastly was I not entertained last season? No, not till December time, the first 4 months were a shambles that the fans had to endure, and then the following 5 months as entertaining as they may be were null and void, because some people representing our club chose cheating rather than doing things the right way, with no care nor thought for the shit storm that would follow if caught.

lastly, before getting high and mighty about name calling, perhaps consider not calling those arguing about the price increase a “lazy victim” first eh.

Still silent on inflation, energy costs, falling income from TV.  Babbling on about Bazanu and Romeu is utterly off topic.  Your comment “the first four are expenditure”!

I am drawing the conclusion these topics are a bit nuanced and complicated to confront…

I think the club can applauded for not wasting money on giving you the gold medal that you think you deserve.

I’ll say it again, all of those points fall under one response, they’re all to do with the costs of running a club, they don’t need addressing separately. My point regarding Baz and the like is that these owners are absolutely masters at wasting money, millions of pounds, yet somehow they’ve hoodwinked some fans into thinking we have to be the ones to foot the bill for their incompetence and running costs and that they can’t afford to keep last years prices despite the spygate shitshow.

Do you enjoy watching Saints on TV? I find it more stressful than being their where you can get a release. The joy of being with your fellow fans is so superior to sitting watching on a couch

The club has always wasted money on poor buys, that comes with the territory. As you say the increase will raise 550k , that is not us footing the bill it is just a natural increase in the costs the club has to factor in to be close to the same position financially we were last season.

Time to get over the spygate stuff, the club may well have thought that if we get caught its going to cost us a fine, never expecting to be thrown out. I doubt anybody in football would have thought any club would have this measure after the way Leeds were handled.

You are a totlly committed Saints fan and I feel its time to either accept or walk, I do hope you keep the first route as in the long run you are cutting your nose to spite your face.

As for last season, those 4-5 months were worth every penny and in all my years following Saints (since 68) there are less that 10 and a little as 5 that gave me as much excitement and pleasure.

Well, I've had an attack of the Trousers, and can see both sides of the argument, but I've renewed my season ticket and accepted that is my lot as a fan.

On the waste of money I would say that most clubs do to some extent or other, and we only know the situation in the club we support, and yes, it's been bad. But part of that is the nature of the business: all business involves risk but football is clearly in a different league. [Whoops, I didn't mean that]
