How the fuck are Bournemouth the top team in the south coast? Bournemouth FFS. Does anyone even know anyone who supports them? A noddy little club in tiny little stadium who we used to do bucket collections for are lauding it up in San Sebastián whilst we’re worrying if we can stop Kieffer Moore from scoring. Bournemouth FFS, Bournemouth

Billionaire owner?

Isn't there another old saying about chickens, something along the lines of not counting them too soon?

Don’t count your chickens until you smash Boro 5 nil?

Most Bournemouth fans I've ever met were older Saints fans who lived down there - I'm sure now they're in the Premier League (and Europe!) they have attracted a new band of bantz loving helmets wearing black with shit haircuts.

The perfect imitation of a dinosaur, wouldn't you say?

Perhaps more relevant, a perfect role model offering hope to all the minnows who aspire to greater things but may have resigned themseleve to accept the eternal domination of the PL by the BIG 2,3,4 or 6 or whatever it is now.

It’s not so much the money, they’ve been exceptional at recruitment, at all levels from playing squad, to the coaching staff to their director of football. They’ve been like the opposite of Sport Republic.

Getting into Europe is now the norm with ever expanding bollocks. All but shit PL teams with have been in it within a few years. Good for the fans but don’t think I have ever had less interest in European games

Worth noting they supposedly have most hated rivalry in England, yet play Saturday 12.30 with no travel restrictions whereas we get stuck on useless Hampshire old bill bubble buses

There are restrictions.

I'm Bournemouth born (1974) and bred. I started supporting Saints after their successful 83/84 season. No doubt seeing coveraged on South Today. A couple of other school friends supported Saints but the majority were Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs. I don't remember 1 being a Bournemouth fan. It wasn't until Bournemouth became a bit more successful and were promoted into the old Div 2 that friends that had supported Liverpool etc now started supporting their home team.

Imagine spending your time waiting for someone to post about Bournemouth on another team's fan forum. You've just won your first ever European game – is this how you celebrate?

I grew up in Warsash/Locks Heath, was at secondary school in the early 2000s and it was the exact same thing when Pompey got promoted. All of a sudden the United/Liverpool/Chelsea fans were all die hard Pompey and always had been.

Success during a certain era will always grow a fan base and I suppose normally it’s better for local sides to be supported over the traditional glory teams, but Bournemouth fans are almost as insufferable as those lot down the road

Boscombe’s 127 year history:

Honours: none.

Number of major cup finals reached: none

Number of European games played: one, this week

And yet you seem so proud, it’s sweet really

Same as Reading. I worked in Reading back in 2009-13, the season they pipped us to the title. Barely spoke to a Reading fan for the first year or so but then when they were top of the championship suddenly everyone that had been Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs were Reading fans. They were everywhere and took great delight in giving me heaps of shit when they beat us 3-1 at St Marys. After lots of excitement about being able to get Premier league season tickets for about 300 quid they all soon stopped talking about Reading again and went back to supporting their old teams

Sports republic were fundamentally holed below the waterline because of Wankerson and Daft. Since Solak has taken back control and introduced Spors, we start to actually look like a well run outfit - and Spors has finally sorted out the squad (which is no mean achievement given he's been working on balancing the finances through wildly fluctuating incomes and the legacies of Wankerson's truly awful recruitment.

If we can get away without a terminal ban for Eckert, I reckon the future is bright (dare I saw, red and white 🌚).

You've posted 3 times in 13 and a half years. Do you just hang about here desperately scouring the site for Bournemouth mentions, or are you just thing to make PB's point for him 🤣😆

Seriously fecking weird that you're on here when you big brother team aren't even playing you, cute that you care I guess.
