Meh Wolves score.

Deservedly so by all accounts.

Still, these midweek results could've been a lot worse.

The Cardiff keeper pulled off an excellent save to keep it 3-3 in extra time.

Trott sorry he spoil the party

We’d now be top, if not for the points deduction farce.

Preston and Derby up next - 6 points from those and surely we will be in or around the automatics. Then Sheffield United.....then the biggest game of the Millennium.

9 points before the Boro and Wolves fixtures please.

We’d be top if we could have finished our chances against Bolton and West Brom, and didn’t get shite results at Lincoln and Watford. We need to let go of the minus 4 and start taking responsibility for our league position.

Yeah I’m pretty confident we’d be top if we’d won every game this season

It's still worth keeping in mind that it's without the -4 that reflects how we're doing on the pitch, which is now better than anyone else so far this season.

Perhaps everybody will get extra  confidence from the fact that on form on the pitch we would be top. If we play well enough we will get the points we need.

6 points separating top and 10th.

What a league.

So much better than the PL

Incidentally the bottom 4 teams in PL are all playing in the bloated European competitions. Ironic if that is what fucks them and Coventry, Hull and Ipswich all survive

So people can now stop bleating on that our away form will cost us automatic promotion.

Shhhhhh! You mustn't mention the 4 point deduction.

I know we’ve slipped up in a few games and so have missed the opportunity to overcome the -4 points already. However, after all the uncertainty surrounding Tonda and having to pick ourselves back up to go again, to be on top in points earned (on GD) is fantastic.

Managing through without Jander, Larin getting injured when league top scorer and struggling to deal with spygate noise (losing first game back and last game before FA decision is no coincidence). I’ll take it.

Tonda has averaged title points over his first year in charge and January provides an opportunity to further strengthen.

Boro were awful tonight. Their fans are in melt down and even questioning King Kim who again looked ready to burst into tears at the end 🙂

Yeah, given the circumstances to only be 4 points off top at this stage is pretty good going. It's going to be a much tighter league than it has been in recent seasons, that's for sure.

Which I think has always been what we need it to be in the circumstances.

Boro looked terrible tonight without Lankshear, be nice if he’s out for a while. I don’t particularly rate wolves either, they’ve scraped through most games and any time they’ve come against anyone near the top, they’ve dropped points.

We’ve had the chances to do that though that’s what frustrates me more than the minus 4. If the owners had given Tonda the tools needed to succeed there’s no reason we couldn’t have been top right now.

Thinking like that ignores the points we have picked up due to luck or opponents' performances or having a good day going our way that we might easily otherwise have dropped. Full points away at West Ham and with 10 men against Pompey immediately spring to mind.

It's never been the case that football always goes how it's expected to.
