JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted yesterday at 16:10 Posted yesterday at 16:10 After the deflected goal in, I thought his head would drop and he'd have a nightmare. However he definitely recovered well after only been around two days. Bodes well for future games. 5
sockeye Posted yesterday at 16:10 Posted yesterday at 16:10 Early thoughts; money very well spent. 10
CSA96 Posted yesterday at 16:14 Author Posted yesterday at 16:14 Minor detail and no guarantee of anything but I liked that even in the first 15 mins he was shouting and clapping, telling people where to go and what to do even though he's probably trained with them once, twice max 20

That was nearly ten years ago. 6
Osvaldorama Posted yesterday at 16:19 Posted yesterday at 16:19 Looks a player on today’s performance. Really, really liked what I saw - commanding, but with the touch and passing too. 7
LGTL Posted yesterday at 16:24 Posted yesterday at 16:24 Josh Coburn is no mug at this level and Kevan bullied the fuck out of him. Didn’t get a kick. 12
Dman Posted yesterday at 16:37 Posted yesterday at 16:37 Looked great. Strong and composed with absolute calamities going on besides and around him. 5

Need more of it at the club. I have a feeling JWP would have helped Bragg second half as well. 2
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 17:36 Posted yesterday at 17:36 Inside the first ten minutes you could see he was an immediate upgrade on Stephens. Shouting from the off, dictating plays and passes, winning duel after duel and mopping up loose balls. Nothing fancy, just basic stuff. But he was immense. Easily an 7-8/10 debut. Very comfortable. 12
coalman Posted yesterday at 18:33 Posted yesterday at 18:33 (edited) Really composed debut. Could use another one like him so Wood and Stephens are squad players. We looked immediately better with him in the team in the same way we looked immediately better when Peretz replaced Bazunu. Loved the way he moved the ball quickly when he won it back and how he kept tight on his man to make it awkward for the attacker. Edited yesterday at 18:34 by coalman 6
chownie20 Posted yesterday at 18:35 Posted yesterday at 18:35 Hugely impressed. Proactive, strong, a leader. Get someone similar alongside him and we'll be well away 6
S-Clarke Posted yesterday at 18:47 Posted yesterday at 18:47 Fill the squad with experienced players like him and we'll have a good time. His experience shone through today. 1
SNSUN Posted yesterday at 19:04 Posted yesterday at 19:04 Nico Schlotterbeck: "I want to play with my brother" he is quoted as saying. Maybe. 1
Lee On Solent Saint Posted yesterday at 19:06 Posted yesterday at 19:06 (edited) Thought he was very accomplished. Didn't try anything fancy. Proper centre back. Edited yesterday at 19:06 by Lee On Solent Saint

If my GCSEs taught me anything it’s that Germans live opposite the cinema, listen to music and play football with their brother, so there could be some truth to this. 1 10
Turkish Posted yesterday at 19:14 Posted yesterday at 19:14 WTF are 10 defensive contributions? Aren’t these tackles, blocks, clearances, headers and interceptions?

A lot of them go swimming on Saturdays too which perhaps explains why a lot of Bundesliga games are now played on Friday and Sundays

The stream I was watching had the Millwall commentators and they were full of praise for how Schlotterbeck dealt with Coburn. Sounded like they had rarely seen anyone get the better of Coburn physically and thought Kevan had completely bullied and nullified him. 4
trousers Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago A great debut today... My motm in fact... A cut above Wood and Stephens, although Wood has a decent game too, probably in part due to playing alongside KS. 1
LoyalSaintSO50 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I like the lad but somewhat annoyed that no one joined in with my chant for him, tried on 3 occasions ffs
saintant Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Following his impressive debut this is a signing that really excites me. I haven't seen the whole game but the positivity of the comments on here make me think Keven is the real deal. He is clearly a big physical centre back who can handle the type of striker he will face in the Championship. The fact that he was able to bully Coburn, one of the toughest in the division, emphasises this fact. Also he was clearly talking and shouting from the first minute so good signs that he will develop into a real leader. We have not had this type of centre half for a long time and he could join the legends of the past such as Killer, Toby, Fonte and VVD. These sort of players can turn an average back four into a good one just by their presence. I'm hoping Keven is in the same mould. It's obviously very early days for his Saints career but my gut tells me he is going to be special for us. Going back to his leadership attributes I wonder whether he might be given the captain's armband sooner rather than later. If he turns out to be an absolute rock at the back it would be great to see such a man mountain leading out the side and, seeing him at the head of the team in the tunnel would give our opponents pause for thought. He'll probably have a nightmare on Tuesday now 🙂 2

Yes, I rate Coburn and if we were looking for a CF from this league he’d be a good option. Seemed a good tussle between him and Keven. Thought Wood did quite well when needed as well. But worth remembering that Coburn and the CB (not sure of which at the time) had one moment in second half where they were wrestling with each other a bit, and had he gone down a penalty might have gone their way. As it was he got a shot in and Peretz made a good save.
davefizzy14 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Schlotterbeck was immense yesterday, totally dominate and composed. Great debut! 😊
skintsaint Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago To step in after signing shortly before the game and put in that performance is very encouraging. Even made Wood look decent. If we could find a right footed version that would be nice. 1
gio1saints Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago He has Mark Wright vibes for me. Think he’s gonna be a good ‘un.
