They're literally tripling up on Scienza when the ball goes to him - that means there must be a free Saints man somewhere else, we need to be utilising that.

It’s notable compared to Swansea that they hold off their initial press until we get closer to the middle third. Then press us like mad when we have played that ball forward.

Downes isn't getting forward as much this game, not sure if that's due to the knock he took earlier or a tactical decision from something we've identified in their midfield.

Amazing that people don't get this. He needed time in league 1 to ignite his career, and we weren't in league 1. He wasn't going to play for us last year, and had we gone up, he wouldn't have played for is this year.

But of a question as to why we didn’t give him a new contract and loan him - aware that is subject to the player agreeing

it is compounded by the fact the club deemed Downs such a prospect

He said on signing for Leyton Orient he was expecting a loan. I think given his injury we might have been hesitant to extend. Wrong call in hindsight.
