Ronayne Marsh-Brown

Recommended Posts

Ronayne Marsh-Brown was a trialist in today's 'behind closed doors' friendly against Glen Hoddle's team of 18/19 year old academy rejects.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11354

Apparently he played the first half at RB and the 2nd half at LB.

He is 24 years old and has played in non-league football (for about 8 teams) and has had a spell in the Dutch 2nd division. He signed a one year pro contract with Dorchester in July 2008 but walked out on them this month (on a day they had a match in which he was due to play!)

Anyone know any more about him???????????

So if we sign him, we could put out a team before the end of the season that includes players who, before joining this season, played for...

- Millwall reserves

- Dorchester Town

- Some non-league outfit twice (the Hungarian guy...is it Zoltan?)

And some of you were glad Rupert came back!!

In other news, I think I've got a leaky roof.

And your point is??????????????????????????????

I was genuinely asking if anyone had ever heard of this guy before and if they knew any more about him.

But, as you are here, what are your honest thoughts about us (possibly) signing a LB/RB/LM (judging by the Dorchester reports it would appear he left footed) who at 24 has failed to settle in 8 non-league teams a Dutch 2nd div team.

I honestly do not know but, he seems a bit like a poor man's Darren Kenton to me. However, as always with any Saints player, if he signs for us I hope he will prove to be the best player ever to wear the red and white stripes!

I play 5-a-side several times a week, I might get a game. The problem being at 34 I'm to old to play for Saints these days....

F*ck, I was going to post something similar. Here is my record...

1988-1991 - Michelmarsh & Timsbury U10's, 11's & 12's ( Players Player of the Year 1990 )

1992-1993 - Whitbread Boys U13's & 14's

1994 - Testwood United U15's

1995 - AFC Totton U16's ( well, half a season, we were thrown out of the league )

1996 - A few games for North Baddesley Sport

1997 - 2002 - A few games for 1PWRR against other regiments.

Haven't done much since and I am fat now, I have been thinking about starting up a 5-side team but in all honesty, I am too unfit and like beer too much to care.

Can someone pass on my details to Mr Wotte. I am free for a trial on Sunday or next Wednesday.

Do we need to know anymore, surely that's enough isn't it?

Good to see that all the money spent on scw wasn't wasted, we're employing the Dutch coach he wanted, we're using the youth like he wanted, we are actually paying Hoddle and Clifford to bring thier academy's to help us train, couldn't afford pearson though, good call Rupert!

But he wont be though Minsk will he. Come on, 24 8 non-league teams but hay he'll be cheap so right up Lowes street!

Sorry, but I'm lost as to what Clifford's link to this is.Do we play a game against his Guiseley* Samba XI from time to time ?

*or wherever it is in Yorkshire

Perhaps we should have a behind the scenes friendly against Barnstonthwaite as a real test.

I know one of Saints scouts and he was telling me how Saints actually employ the Brazilian academy for extra training sessions, he couldn't believe it, nor can I, doesn't say much for our coaching set up does it!

Don't know why we are passing judgement just yet as lets face it our full back poistions haven't exactly been our strength in recent seasons. Ian Wright didn't sign for Palace until he was almost 22 and was playing Sunday League football in SE London at the time.

Interesting to note two of the managers who have signed Marsh-Brown Martin Jol was manager of the dutch club back in 2004 and Paul Ince signed him for Macclesfield. the number of clubs could indicate he has an attitude problem as oppose to a lack of ability. Bit of grit and aggression maybe what is required.

Well I have played for:

Wyvern from the age group "nips" right through to under 14s

Earls from under 15s I was 18 (Highlights include a 6 a side tournament win and also a runner up)

I then got accepted to play for Totton but due to other commitments (beer) I declined.

One year with Fair Oak

My goal record averages 1 goal every 5 years.

I also had a two year stint of proffesional coaching.

I played left back but I'd be willing to convert to the right hand side for the benefit of the team.

Am I in??

For me the telling phrase in the Dorchester website link was "comfortable on the left side of the pitch".

We don't need another left sided player. Doesn't anyone kick with their right foot these days?

I'm mainly right footed although I can play well with my left peg!

I always used to play left-back because no-one else wanted to play there. I got used to it and found it difficult to re-adjust back to my natural side.

Well personally i know this player quite well as i am a season ticket holder at Dorchester town FC. Put it this way we could do worse but i am not so sure he is upto championship standard either. We have scouted him over the last 3 games he played for Dorchester so must see something in him.

And to think not so long ago we used to have scouts at premiership clubs

Perhaps we are going for an entire non league back four.[ I hope this is not true, because

you could not make it up if you wanted to].

LB played in top div in Germany, France and Scotland, 14 caps,

CB from Dutch top division

CB previous £4m player, hundreds of English prem apps

RB 11 U19 apps, 9 U21 for Wales, still 20
