they said that the opening game was a record home defeat was utterly unacceptable

Why didnt they sack him last Saturday night, Sunday or Monday ?

He goes to Yeovil on Tuesday and they win 4-0.....so he then gets sacked !!!!

Incredible.....what was the old saying - "you are only as good as your last result" !!!

Did it really take 11 minutes for someone to post that.

I wonder how this will recoil on Norwich's promotion push.

It's quite a "revolving" door they've got going on at Norwich.

I always knew Gunn would eventually bite the "bullet".

I guess all those goals that Colchester "rifled" in last week led to Gunn's downfall.

Gunn must be so depressed, I hope he doesn't "shoot" himself.

You have to admit, Gunn's Norwich really were "pistol-whipped" last weekend by Colchester.

I'm sure sacking Gunn was an "uzi" decision for the Norwich board

I doubt bringing in another new manager will "gunpowder" over the cracks within the club.

I think I'm losing my mind.

I wonder how many managers have been sacked after a 4-0 away win against a team above them in the league table...

Pretty rough on Gunn to be honest, they certainly rallied a bit when he took over, despite the fact they still went down. He put some fight into them.

The fact that he got the boot this early on suggests there's more to the matter than meets the eye.

Still just for once, it's not us that has to worry, Pards said Saints was the only job he'd drop down a division or 2 for, so he won't be a target for Norwich :)

Utter madness!

Give the job to the bloke who threw he season ticket at Gunn on Saturday.

to be fair...they got relegated didnt they..he had plenty of time to save them last season..the timing is odd but im guessing some of the board were sceptical about him and getting a record home defeat was enough and a bit of lobbying has been going on in the last week or so...

Sturrock was not sacked. Don't lets go back to the old habits of changing the facts in order to make a post.

So what euphemism do you favour then, Professor? "Let go"? "Released"? "Parting of the waves"? "By mutual agreement"?

Come on, he was sacked. Whatever euphemism you prefer for, his contract was terminated, with or without his consent.

As we are talking euphemisms, "Parting of the waves" tends to suggest a god like figure who can walk on water, hardly likely to have been sacked methinks..! Obviously "Parting of the ways" would suggest something completly different though...! ;)

Very , very sad. I know there's no room for sentiment in football and all that jazz, but, given what's hapened to him previously, I feel for the bloke big time!

Agreed - he served them very well over the years, just a shame that they turned to him as it was all going pear shaped. Would have been very difficult for him to turn them down - and now it's all gone 'pete tong' he leaves a club he served with distinction, for many many years, under a cloud. Very, very sad really.

From a NCFC perspective its a poor poor decision.

Really, if NCFC want to see what a managerial merry go round does to a club then they need to look no further than L**e and his **** poor record here.

It's guaranteed failure!

Also why did they let him rebuild the team then sack him almost instantly? Shades of the Sturrock debacle......

If I was a NCFC fan I'd be pretty upset about it, especially as the guy was a bit of a Canary legend but as a SFC fan I'm quite happy. If one of our rivals wants to shoot itself in the foot then that's fine by me!

If you really think he wasn't sacked then you are very naive I am afraid.

I have known the Sturrock family for many years and this one was mutual. None of the ****** spouted at the time was correct, just an unfortunate collection of small incidents that steam rollered out of control. Luggy is free to comment on this one when he wishes, but I really doubt we will hear anything because that is the type of person he is!

A reminder to anyone who suggested that MLT should have been our new manager that it wouldn't have worked
