Right back (possibly - depdning on murty's injury, which actually may not be too bad according to solent - scans have come back positive.)

CB

Winger

Striker.

but i wouldn't be surprised to see us go for a Pacy striker who can also operate down the wings...

If we keep Saga, and I hope we do as come the end of the window he may aswell realise he's staying with us, then I would like another striker aswell.

A definate defender, either centre back or right back, and a pacy winger.

All of them top quality players aswell, not asking for much! :)

I just can't understand Saints fans who post on here any longer. It's taken all day before anyone starts thinking about our season, who we might sign. Yet we're debating about who the Skates will/have signed, anything but taken time and google and find out who we are going to sign. I posted earlier, now there are more articles. Seems we're after Roy O'Donavan from Sunderland. Striker/winger.

"Meanwhile, O'Donovan is looking for the move to kick-start his career in the UK after a frustrating 12 months.

The winger-cum-attacker spent time on loan at Blackpool last season and has Championship interest in his services, but fallen giant Southampton have emerged as a possible destination. They would make the former Cork City man a key player in their quest to get out of League One, and the 24-year-old is understood to be attracted by that challenge.

While O'Donovan and Murphy are keen on permanent moves, it is possible that loan arrangements will be struck

Now go and do some googling and find that Pardew is interested in this guy and find out more about where HCDAGJFU

Well i got a feeling we could be seeing a few incoming and outgoing.

Rasiak gone and probably Saga going out on loan etc..

Maybe Morgan going.

So i think we will bring in another striker who will probably be a semi young striker with pace etc.. I think we will see a defender join most likely Jaidi and possibly another.

And i think at least another midfielder. So im saying 4 :)

O'Donovan would be a good signing, lightning quick.

Morgan was supposedly on Shearer's wish list for Newcastle! If he leaves I hope it will be for somewhere better than St James Park.

Perhaps we should send him out on loan to a club in the premiershipfor a year as if he is as good as some people seem to think he is value will rocket. Personally I think he'd be better in the premiership than League 1 or the CCC.

How about we loan him to Fulham in retur for Baird on loan (right back, centre back, centre midfield cover).

Also read somewhere that Max Gradel - winger from Leicester - was supposed to be joining us on loan.

If Stoke sign Huth can we get A Davies back on loan?

Is there a seperate loan window this year!

I meant in terms of premiership not championship - and a club not in chaos like Newcastle (I would have thought he'd had enough of clubs in crisis)

besides Newcastle is a graveyard for good players (maybe Nile Ranger will prove the exception) these days!

do you actually think baird will come back us. dont think so!!

he's not getting a game at Fulham - and if he gets the same weekly wage why not?

Also part of the reason he went there was due to his other half who didn't want to move away from - or to far from - Southampton

so can't really see him going up North or to Scotland/Rangers for example

if we paid half his wages and loaned Schneiderlin to Fulham for a season in return I don't see why not

it shouldn't stop him getting in thr Northern Ireland squad should it - its not like they are all big premiership stars is it!

Four

Right Back

Centre Back

Winger

Striker

I agree

I'm glad Rasiak has moved on. I'm sure his moving away it will help team spirit. Now let's get rid of Saga

Well impressed with Pardew to date

Regards

At least 3. We might need a Murty replacement, but let's say we don't. We need a central midfielder to play with Hammond if Schneiderlin can't be arsed.

We need a right winger. We need a striker.

Unless Mills and Holmes actually get fit. Then maybe Holmes, Lallana, James, Thomson can compete for right wing.

Central defender too perhaps, if there's anyone good around, but not for the sake of it. Jaidi would be great.

sorry to be puzzled... but why would Holmes compete for the right wing position... when he is left footed and a left winger... and thats really something we don't have...

I'd be delighted if we get O'Donavan. The kid has got bags of potential.

Baird played the full 90 minutes for Fulham in a European match tonight.

There is no way he will be coming back here. We are in League 1 FFS!

As for the original question:

1 x RB on loan to cover the time Murty will be out

1 x CB Although I firmly believe we will sign Jaidi once the paperwork is sorted, and as he is a free agent this can be after the window has closed.

1 x Fast striker

That is my bare minimum. A right winger would be nice also but I think Mellis will be playing at RM and I can't see AP signing amyone else for that position without (rightfully) giving this lad a chance to make it his own first. I think we will be okay on the left once Fish is fit again. (I also think we will be okay on the right once McLaggon is fit, but that will take longer.)

I posted yesterday morning about Roy O'Donovan after Sporting Life mentioned in their Paper Talk that the Daily Star were reporting that Pardew was interested in signing him. I later posted again but found myself unable to answer Saint Clark's request for the source. .comsaint galantly provided the link to the Irish Independant article where I'd seen it after searching on Google earlier.

Few Saints supporters onm here can be bothered googling, preferring to discusswho the Skates have or have not signed all day. This guy looks good and just what we need.
