JPT Final - Saints vs Carlisle - Build Up

Arizona

I can't bloody wait.

Should be a blinding day out.

After all the crap we have had to put up with the last few years this season has been a breath of fresh air.

Let's top it off with lifting a trophy at wembley, then look too what appears to be a very promising and bright future.

Up until now' date=' even through the Southern Area Final, I've been unable to shake off the feeling that the JPT is a joke trophy. Fast forward to now and the anticipation and excitement is starting to kick in as a trip to Wembley (and maybe even a trophy) beckons...[/quote']

The LARGEST congregation of Saints Fans EVER in a stadium 48000+ I reckon, and only Eight months after we nearly went down the Swanee, lets all have a Great day and Celebrate our GREAT club the Pot would be a nice bonus.

Half of Wembley in red and white - can't wait.

COYR

A hell of a lot more than half I reckon!

I didn't think it would take long for a build up thread to appear! Soooooo looking forward to this one. We didn't play well tonight, but hopefully the players will be more up for it on Sunday, though naturally there will be nerves.

We CAN win this, as long as we can dispel the nerves and play as well as we know we can, even with the "second string" Saints team.

I'm hoping Lallana was dropped tonight to help him recover for the big game, good decistion to give Lambert an early night too. Harding was immense tonight on the right, although if James is fit, I'd like to see him take the right back slot with Harding switching back the the left, although I wouldn't bat an eyelid if Harding starts on the right. I think a loan right back is unneccesary.

We must sing our hearts out for this one, I know I will. UTS

cant wait to get the game going vs carlilse and we need the following ;

Davis

Harding

Jaidi

Fonte

Mills

Papa

Hammond

Morgan

Lallana

Lambo

Connolly

To have basicaly the same team who have been getting brilliant wins and showed great football will be our advantage.

Allthough some say we are favs I think Saints and fans know we are never really favs for any game and that may put some presure on carlilse.

COYR Saints 3 (lambo 3, Papa Offside 15, Fonte 72) Carlilse 1 (OG 88)

Apparently Gillett has a chance of playing on Sunday..don't much like the sound of that (unless it's a subs place) because that would mean that either Lallana or Morgan is probably doubtful. Not that I think that Gillett might not do a better job than Wotton mind you.

Just listened in to AP's post match piece, Morgan may or may not be fit for Sunday, whatever "sweating on that" means.

Hamstring injury apparently.

The video the played @ half time last night really got me in the mood not that I wasn't excited enough already. Anyone have a link to it or managed to record it?

Shame I'm in bed ill now with a throat infection but I will be at Wembley regardless come Sunday

Hate to put a dampner on this thread but we have a bucket full of injury worries according to Pardew.

All that aside we have strength in depth and whilst we all sit back and expect flowing football, sparkling finishing, and a trophy at the end of the day - it might not be all plain sailing.

I'm as excited about the day as any of you.

The team selects itself - I just hope that those who merit and deserve a start are fit enough.

Not looking too far ahead - but could be a dress rehearsal for an event in May...

Anyone have a feel for what the weather is going to be like?

As a final shot - good luck to the lads walking to Wembley this week for charity. It's a fantatic effort by them for a good cause. They deserve a big pat on the back for keeping to their word - probably made in jest after one too many beers!

Really good highlights here of last time we played at Wembley

I was only 8 at the time and was gutted my dad went with his mates and didn't take me but I can understand now why as I wouldn't want an 8yr old tagging along with me all day lol

went to Cardiff in 2003 but it's just not the same as Wembley

Been waiting for this thread, let alone the actual game.

Really can't wait, always my dream to see Saints lift a trophy up in a red and white filled stadium.

Look forward to mixing with a few new fans too.

there will be plenty of them so you should have fun

A Cup Final build-up wouldn't be the same without a few injury worries to give us sleepless nights between now and Sunday. Hope that Morgan is OK. Was Lallana injured or rested? A Saints team without Puncheon, Lallana, Barnard, & Morgan is not the force it has been in recent weeks.

Indeed, Carlisle are just behind us in the table and put Leeds out in a very hard-fought Northern Area final.

Busy packing my bags, can't wait for this, one of those when the Day is everything, but a win makes it a special moment in life.

Won't be an easy game even with our strongest side on the pitch.

Worried about Morgan's fitness slightly more than Lallana's but would be gut-wrenching if we were without one or heaven forbid both.

You lucky people will have a rest from me typing BS on here for a weekend, so that HAS to be a plus point! :-)

First trip for ages where I am praying to the Footballing Gods rather than the Upgrade Gods. Certainly intend wearing the shirt on the flight tomorrow and it's like being a kid at Christmas all over again.

Well Barnard and Puncheon certainly won't be in the side on Sunday.

If Morgan and Lallana don't make and James isn't really fit imagine the makeshift side that we'd have to put out.

Harding on the right, Mills on the left

Jaidi and Fonté as usual.

A really tasty midfield of Wotton, Deano,Gillett and Gobern (or McLaggon)

with Rickie and Papa in attack. Subs bench, Bart, Perry and the youth team.

Still probably won't come to that.

Bags are packed.

Taxi due in 2 hours and then we're off on the long haul.

Hoping my brother has got us 2 tickets for the pub.

The missus has only been to one Saints game before and she thought it was amazing (we lost 2-1 at home to QPR!) so god knows what she will make of close to 50,000 Saints fans screaming their heads off at Wembley.

Can't wait :D
