SO16_Saint Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Latest one: "The wheels are in motion and everyone wants to be on the bus." One of my favourites so far. Who else is on board with this thread?

madruss Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 He also said "listen, it's as simple as this" for the first time. We're used to "simple as that", can we handle "simple as this"? I for one am on the bus!

jamesfp1 Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I like to combine them.. Listen, its about winning games of football, its as simple as that. As long as were all playing with smiles on our faces we can only do well. Its about the group, not the eleven. We all want the same thing which is great, we're all pushing towards the same goal. Shroppie Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 We are indeed all on the bus and long may the wheels go round and round. (That really is a song we need to adopt now to sing at every moment of success. It's perfect. Simple, humorous, lets NA know we love him)

Ken Tone Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Surely we should just sing 'the wheels on the bus' Absolutely. 20-30 thousand people all singing "the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round" ... x2 then ... "all day long" as we get promoted. Brilliant. Perfect football song...... simple, repetitive, unique to Saints, funny, and completely incomprehensible to the opposition. Fits all the criteria! Danish Saint Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 ??? I thought the point was, it's a bus. See end of this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27507-Jason-Puncheon Would make it even more absurd, incomprehensible and unique to Saints. See your point but, with respect, that's just a bit too surreal even for me, and I'm totally surreal. So I prefer the wheels on the bus going round and round. Of course, we'll have to teach it to fans not old enough to have children.

Shroppie Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 The beauty of it is that he is not consistently predictable. In any one interview he will find a new favourite phrase and repeat it ad infinitum, but he seems to find a new one each time. It really makes things exciting. Brussels Saint Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I would like to see a huge banner at St,Mary's from the fans in the Northam that reads "We are all in the building" and another in the Chapel that says "Its as simple as that". Perhaps the Kingsland can have one that says "Its about winning games of football" and the Corporates in the Itchen can have one that says "We (didn't) come on the bus!" Greenridge Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Not specific to Adkins but anyone notice the trend of the last couple of years of Managers referring to their Football Club, not just the Club as it used to be. Must be the fashion I guess. Anyway, I'm off to catch the bus before it leaves without me

Actually on second thoughts, even better if sung between stands instead of 'we are the northam over here' etc. But maybe we'll just have to settle for everyone singing "We're all in the buil-ding. We're all in the buil-ding. La la laa. La la laa" to the tune of "let's all have a conga"..... in between verses of the 'wheels on the bus' of course. The Cat Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 It's very nice on the bus at the moment, but what you have to realise is that there's always improvements that can be made to the bus. One of the most impressive things for me was that even though driver was doing a good job and negotiating traffic and tight bends with ease all the way through to the end of his route, he still found time just before the end of it to reverse back and pick up a passenger who hadn't quite made it to their stop. The bus is a very happy place to be right now, but we can always make it happier. Add some more comfortable seats, a lick of paint, or make sure the floor is always clean and tidy. And if some passengers want to get off the bus, we'll have to make sure we strive to get some better passengers on to replace them.

I don'y know why people are taking the pizz, since he's come we've had one of the most successful spells in my 50 years fanship. Let him say whatever he wants, if Burley and his successors had half Nigel's enthusiasm we wouldn't be sitting in L1 today.
