Badger Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 gutted that that thieving **** scored against us, and dissapointed we let a lead slip. However, as you said it's still in our hands and a draw isn't the end of the world.

Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 I actually thought we could do it tonight. Sitting here thinking that we're not gonna be that team anymore. goodymatt Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 To concede that close 1to the end, by an ex-player in his first game against us since leaving was it? And to lose Lallana and Chamberlain to injury. Lets hope they are not out for more than 11 days
View From The Top Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 The drama queens will be out in force but to me it's a decent point picked up as I fully expected a defeat. It is Saints after all. There are plenty more twists and turns to come.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 We picked up an important point in an away game. Everyone will be suicidal because we threw away a lead, though... No, they'll be suicidal cos we have potentially lost Chambo and Lallana. That is far more important.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Disappointed but still in our own hands which is important. What is more concerning is the injuries to Lallana and Oxo. Definitely need midfield reinforcements not just others who can do a job there. Two days to secure us the best possible chance of promotion. Liquidshokk Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 (edited) sorry, I know a point should be seen as not a bad return but I for one see tonight as a bit of a disaster.. lallana injured, chamberlain injured, chucked away a lead and brighton won... thank god for the games in hand and recent results by our rivals... I really hope that point is the one that scrapes us into promotion by second spot so I can feel some appreciation for it Edited 22 March, 2011 by Liquidshokk

Miltonaggro Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 What this does tell us, as if we didn't know already, is that our potential play off credentials are not great - particularly given Charlton's recent form against ours, something like 60% of the play this evening, and 3000 travelling fans. The other obvious concern is the rapidly depleting midfield as we are currently losing two players per game - time to bring in some serious loanees and pronto... S-Clarke Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 I think the main concern to come out of tonight is the loss of Lallana and Chambo - they may just be knocks, who knows, but the way Chambo had to be helped off the pitch has to be a cause for concern. Without those 2 will will quite obviously struggle. But it's still in our own hands, a point here will be seen as a decent return as long as we get 6 points from the 2 home games coming up. Still more twists and turns to happen this season.
Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Yea... because teams that want to get automatic promotion only want a point. BotleySaint Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 At least Lallana and Chambo have loads of time to rest now before our next game. Annoying we drew, but far from the end of the world. All still in our hands.

alpine_saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Yet again Saints blow a golden chance to stamp our name on an automatic promotion spot. And we let a thieving reject do it to us. And we've maybe lost two of our key players for a while. Simply not good enough, the job has just become much harder. Hope some of you are pleased that you got the result you wanted. Micky Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Not the end of the world, had changes enforced on us and still came away with something, it's always tough when you lose it in the last couple of minutes. Hopefully the injuries are not bad and we have time to AL and Chambo back fit again. It's going to the wire, we ain't gonna catch Brighton now - but it's all still there to play for second. up and away Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 As soon as that Thwat Merrington praised Kelvin for being so good with the ball over the top, you just knew what was going to happen. SaintNeil90 Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Lallana injured, Chamberlain injured, 2 points dropped, another opportunity missed, ex player scores... Great! Fed up of people saying its still in our own hands. If we keep doing this with our games in hand (dont forget walsall) then it soon wont be in our own hands! I think Peterborough will get automatic and we will be in the play offs personally. Even though Peterborough lost last night they were by far the better team. Weston Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Disappointed after we were 1-0 up but another point towards our goal. Shame Lallana has a groin injury (do not know how bad it is) but he is a quick healer

Not sure who that's aimed at Alps? But I'm sure we all wanted a win tonight.....and if Chambo and Lallana are out long term then that's not our fault, it's just plain bloody unlucky. It would have been great to go 2nd tonight, but tbf we'd probably only be there for a few days as Hudders have 2 home games before we next play. - so we wouldn't have been stamping our authority on it by any means. Frustrating, yes, but it means that the 2 home games need to be wins, no margin for failure in these now.
