We can not be promoted on Monday. HTH

Do you think Huddersfield are going to beat Brentford 10-0? If you do, you must also think we are going to lose to Walsall by at least 6 goals if you don't think we are up with a win on Monday.

God, we really do need to do the job on plymouth.

Otherwise this Walsall game will be one heck of a game.

Walsall for their league 1 survival and us for league 1 promotion. You couldn't have wrote this script! what an amazing end to the season. Who buckles under the pressure first????

Unbelievable Huddersfield, fair play to them. What an effort.

Win on Monday and that will be that. Gunna take somethin extraordinary otherwise. We would have needed a win on Monday to make its official if hudds had drawn today anyway. Nothing has changed really, jus a bit of a pain. Brighton are wimping out, could end up only 2 points clear of us.

brighton are so annoying...they battered hudds but all 3 of the goals they gave away sounded like comedy defending...

ffs....

They will be ****ed in the championship. They've struggled against any team with a decent attack this year.

Great result today but we really must win it on monday. Reason i think that is Walsall have become a bastard team who grind out draws away. They will need to win to stay up so they will be coming fired up. Drawn 4 of their last 5 away games.

Plymouth have a decent recent home record, winning 4 of the last 5. But i think their defeat today will make them know it's over. They have to win both their remaining games and then hope others lose. So i think they will be there for the taking.

A loss or a draw will make the last game a real nervous one. It will be like that Sheff Utd game. I think i might have a heart attack if we go through that again....

What is clear is that a point is no use to either team on Monday. After today Walsall will need to come to us next weekend needing to win to be sure of staying up. This will suit us in both games.

Could be useful for us if Huddersfield draw against Brentford. But it's certainly not a target!

Don't quite see the logic in that - whether we like it or not - they are Champions, and they have won it with games to spare. Therefore, it has hardly been a struggle for them. I can understand people being hacked off about thier result today, but let's face it - thier work is done and they've ****ed off on holiday. We do ours on Monday and we can join them on the beach for the last game.

Huddersfield will not draw at home to Brentford. I'm willing to have a bet with anyone on that if they want to take it.

Depends on our result at Plymouth, if we win then the sensible thing would be to rest their players ready for the Play Offs.

The Ref on Monday is due to be :- K A Woolmer (Andy) from Northamptonshire. A postman who keeps fit by walking his route. He was in charge of the Hull v Palace game today.

I don't think he has seen us play well in recent seasons.

This season : H v Rochdale 0-2.

Last season : a v millwall 1-1

08/09 season : H v Doncastler 1-2.

However we won with him on 17Apr2006 H v Millwall 2-0.

imo the Football League are giving us nothing, the players and fans are going to have to roll up our sleeves and battle again.

For info he has reffed 5 times AT Plymouth in recent seasons

06Mar2010 v Preston 1-1; 27Sep2009 v Forest 0-1; 21Feb09 v Sheff U 2-2; 13Sep08 v Norwich 1-2 and 12Feb08 Barnsley 3-0.

So he has a record of 1-2-2 with them.

He claims the Best Game he was in charge was a 3-2 away win for Orient :-

What is the best game you have officiated and why?

Oxford United v Leyton Orient the last game of the 2005/06. It was a must win game for both teams for Oxford winning would have meant Football League survival and for Leyton Orient a win guaranteed them promotion to League One. It was a fantastic action packed game to referee and I was pleased that the feedback that I received from the assessor was very positive (Leyton Orient went on to win the match.)

Anybody else have a sneaky desire for us to need the win on the final day? Imagine the roar if/when we put the ball in the net...

Probably just me.

No. Win against Plymouth, party all day Saturday. (Plus we still won't be mathmatically up even if we do beat Plymouth so still something to play for.) I don't think my heart can cope with leaving it to the last day of the season. (We shouldn't need to.)

I was thinking the same when it was 2-2 at the Withdean. I was mourning the atmosphere that would be lost on the final day.

Talk about be careful what you wish for...... I would have liked nothing more for the game to have been a dead rubber now.

"You could see today that the players are absolutely knackered and I can't blame them to be honest. Good effort lads, the squad is just to small to allow players to have rest periods."

That's from the Plymouth forum. I guess in terms of rests for us I'd go Seaborne in for Jaidi, Butterfield to start instead of Richardson and perhaps Stephens for Chaplow? We do have a fair bit of strength-in-depth, so hopefully that will win out on the day.

Going to be very interesting to see how Adkins plays it, as Plymouth will be all-out attack - no question. Do we try and hold out and catch them on the counter (with the likes of Connolly and Lallana ripping them) or do we also go all-out attack and see where we are at half-time? Personally i'd try and hold tight to wear them down and pound them second half.
