Cheers Monk.

Gut feel is they will be players that come straight in and improve the team; that's obviously the intention nowadays.

So my guess is CB, with Fonte moving on if he comes in (there must be something in all those Besiktas rumours of a few weeks ago).

EDIT - on second thoughts it must be an attacking player. But what the hell do I know?

Gaston is not out of favour, expect him and osvaldo to be involed much more this year. the club hasn't given up on them even if some of our "fans" have.

This is what I was told, Club still see Gaston with a big future here - but I was told that we'd consider a loan deal so he'd get regular playing time to continue his development.

Can billy sharp come back in jan or is the deal til may with no clauses? Could really do with him on the bench right now.

Billy is back with us now. The loan was only until 1st Jan.

But I still wouldn't expect him to even make the bench.

I suppose it will entirely depend on where Poch see's where the biggest problem is, either Centre Half or Central Attacking Midfielder, create goals or defend goals.

Currently on the defend goals view but would not argue if we got a attacking midfielder, if we got a right back i would say poch needs to be certified

I think we'll find out the owners real intentions this month, through the appointment of a chairman and potential movement in the transfer market. The last thing I want is for this season to peter out, but if we have to play with either Jos or Yoshida at the back for a prolonged period of time, then we won't do that well. I didn't think we'd make any moves, but you have to wonder if these injuries will really force our hand a bit.

I also think we could do with a tad more fire power. Our 'out and out' strikers this year haven't done it for us for whatever reason. Jay's return has been terrific, but I don't see him as our out and out striker and he's still a little cold in terms of some of his finishing.

At least Wanyama is back soon though, we really miss that strength in front of the back 4.

Would be a bit of a wimpy to end the season though, after such promise.

it is going to be anyway.

for me, goal achieved. establish ourselves in the top half and not get into a relegation fight at all

sets up next season nicely

should we really pay someone £90k a week to move up 1 more place?

Why would we be paying anyone 90k a week??? Don't think anyone has suggested that sort of outlay.

but by that same logic, should we pay a little extra to ensure we don't drop 2 or 3 places and out of the top half? All very possible.

hasnt someone just suggested getting in lescott?

either way, we would have to pay millions, for what?

the market is miles better in the summer
