Saints Ticket Rip off Continues This Season

Disgusting to see Crystal Palace as a CAT A game because its the last home match.

Also a farce that Bournemouth are a CAT A game.

I'm all for low price ticketing, but final game of season is popular and so will bompey game, hence cat A. Cat A is based on popularity after all.

Sorry CAT A isnt based on popularity its always been tiered to top clubs.

You have forgotten to point out that match day prices have been frozen and 6000 seats are in fact cheaper.

you are incorrect, I think you will find Pompey were Cat A (Gold price as it was then) and they are not a top club, they are however, like Bournemouth, a local club.

Match prices are frozen and 6000 seats are cheaper. Just got to pay the £25 membership fee to get them.

Nothing is cheaper just moving the cost around

Pompey are not a top club but Jesus. Obvious why they were CAT A.

Comparing a Saints/Pompey fixture to a Saints/Bournemouth fixture. Brilliant.

Can see why both of them are cat a. No probs for me, I think if there are more cat a games than last year though there should be more cat c games.

Hardly any Cat B games. Does make sense the way the fixtures have fallen. The Cat As will sell out. Decent number of Cat Cs, plus Europa games, plus cups should give a good opportunity for those that don't want to pay the silly money for tickets.

I will now, and only now, because the Palace match is Cat A, accept that the Villa match last season was only Cat A because they've decided to do this for the last match.

However, the 8, 3, 8 breakdown of matches is pretty much in line with last year, and 6,000 tickets are cheaper than last season FOR EVERY SINGLE MATCH so again, no idea what you're complaining about.

Lol the "we don't care about you" chants against Bournemouth will be pretty pointless now. CAT A against the smallest club in the PL is laughable.

Clearly just done it to rip off the Bompey fans while the loyal Saints season ticket holders pay much less.

I like to think of it as charging Bournemouth fans a premium they won't have to pay at most Prem grounds this season. And let's face it, as the nearest thing to a derby it'll attract more floaters than any of the Cat B or C games.

The £25 membership fee is irrelevant to the discussion, there are the same number of tickets available whether it is paid or not.

Oh good, our little Villa supporter has returned. See happens every season, last home game of season, Cat A. Not just something to **** you off, though clearly it has.

How about this.

The last game of the season is going to be Cat A. Regardless of opposition. Every season. Get used to it.

To be fair, we only started it last season. Stoke home in 2012/13 wasn't Cat A.

No one is paying it to get reduced tickets, if they're paying it they're doing so to get tickets that they fear will sell out, nothing to do with prices. If anything you could argue keeping the price low creates the market for membership, but as there will still be plenty of non-sell outs all it is doing is offering people the chance to queue jump to watch likely sell outs.

Every game could probably sell twice over so I guess they would only need one price.

It'll be interesting to see which, if any, of their games don't sell out... They've got us in their only midweek home match so that solves one problem immediately.

Are you kind of missing the point of categories?

They're designed to take advantage of what will be the most popular and highest attended games, which will be the top clubs, the Bournemouth game because of how it will be billed (even though it isn't a derby!) and the last home game of the season is almost always a sell out.

So, what's the problem? It's no different than it is any other season, really.

I'm sure you'd be the first to complain when we don't sign player x because we don't have the money. This is a way to maximize the revenues at the club as much as possible.

Stop being so bloody reasonable, more rants about stupid shart no-one else cares about is what this place needs. :D

I suspect if he's whining about making one match more expensive (even though it isn't) the spare money to get an ST probably isn't floating around.

So if you are going to x amount of games. make sure as many are Cat C as Cat A and it evens itself out.

One more Cat A game (surprise surprise Boscombe is Cat A), one less Cat B. Otherwise the same.

that is what I am saying. throw in X many membership cards (say 6000) at £25 a pop. then lower ticket prices for a portion of the ground. win/win

if you dont pay £25 for a membership card, you may not get one of these cheaper tickets....which you had to pay £25 to be in a chance with anyway

When the moaning is about one fixture, which happens to be the last home game of any season, which isn't even a fixed date, isn't necessarily even the last match, is usually against different teams, doesn't affect the balance of matches over the whole season, and costs a different amount depending on age, concession status and different area of the ground anyway, you really have to wonder what the point being made is.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying you could get tickets to all home games without membership last season. You can get them to SOME home games without membership this season. Paying the premium just gets you tickets to likely sell outs if you were slow getting them last season, though as there is now membership not having membership moves you further down the queue.

Not sure what your point about paying for the cheaper tickets is, with membership and without you can buy cheap or expensive tickets, it's irrelevant.

ok.

The club are obviously going to get x amount of new revenue on the ticket front from memberships so I think they have decided to pass that back to the fan base in terms of cheaper/frozen ticket prices.....either way, lets agree to disagree

I'd assume the Bournemouth game will be moved to TV as the media seem to think it's a derby, so with that and a cat a price I'll be amazed if we sell it out. Doesn't seem the most intelligent pricing that one.

Last day at cat a makes sense, especially against a London club who'll almost certainly sell out their allocation.
