Did I see him do a knee slide celebration?! 😬

This used to terrify me when Ings did them too!

I`m just glad Ings didn't get to do one last night

If we did that after 2 goals then we're even more daft than I thought we were.

He needs at least half a season, 6 months+ of consistent football and output before we should even consider a new deal.

I think it's great for him personally that he's got back to back games with so many mins under his belt, and some output, but it needs to be shown over a prolonged period before anyone gets too excited.

His contract ends next summer, if we wait until then he’s a free agent….

What a difference a striker makes.

Agree with all the above. He was very good yesterday and great to see him back.

Mental decision making from the club that we are relying on him, but hopefully it pays off. Also agree on the knee slides, I winced when I saw that.

We aren't. We're relying on him, Armstrong, Archer and Downs.

Yes, as I said, we are relying on Stewart as the others are all wank

Currently Stewart 2 league goals, Armstrong 2 league goals & Archer 1. Unless we get injuries, I doubt that Downs is likely to feature in match day squads any time soon

Neither Armstrong nor Archer is ‘w*nk’ in the Championship.

Armstrong will score more than Ross Stewart this season no bother.

Hopefully 31 to Stewart's 30 in that case

Not if Stewart manages to stay fit.

He’s be on be on 4 if he’d played as much as them

Quite 3 proven championship strikers with a YHGTI yank international superstar as back up

Armstrong is good as an inside forward, not a striker. He can’t hold it up or trouble defenders.

Archer is a good player but doesn’t suit the way we play at all. So yeah. Neither of them are wank players, but they are wank options for us

I thought having wank options was a good thing...

Agree, the club should ban players from knee sliding to celebrate goals especially someone like Stewart.

Absolutely. This is what Still would do if he had half a brain.

Ive been one of his critics, but if this is how strong and willing he can be for the club, then maybe we are about to see what the club thought they were getting from  this player before the horrendous injury problems became a millstone around everything he and the club were doing to resolve them.

Once a sicknote always a sicknote unfortunately

This could be the real Ross Stewart or that could be the last two goals he scores for the club because he either doesn’t perform or gets injured again.

My money is on the latter.

How much?

Even Nathan Jones managed to sneak in.

Well of course! "Being one of the best in Europe" he'll be the manager and will have picked himself at CB because of his super fitness

Ings was thought to be a perennial sick note, not much sign of it recently……!

Now we’re without a proper number 9 for the season again.

Bamford on a free...?

Have you seen his injury record?

Patrick Bamford - Stats 24/25 | Transfermarkt

I'm not up to speed with his injury record but, according to the link you posted, he had a "muscle injury"  from January to March last season and no reports of any injury since... So, what's his current injury situation...?

He's not been able to play a full game since. That's why they released him. The last time he scored a goal was more than 1½ years ago. He'd just be company for Ross Stewart in the treatment room.

Fair enough. As I say, I don't know enough about his current injury situation to offer any informed counter-argument 👍🏻

Of course its true.

Bodies sometimes can’t cope with the physicalities of professional football.

This was so easy to predict. Bet you Stewart doesn’t play more than 15 games this season.

When does anyone think we'll announce his new three year contract ?

Would be an absolute mad thing to do.

So he'll be offered one first thing on Monday morning.

Surely Stewart playing three games in 7 days with his injury record was pushing things. Maybe the medical guys should have been a bit more vocal.

Got a header on target, landed slightly awkwardly and then felt the back of his calf/hamstring.

Within 5 seconds of the physios going over they made the universal signal for sub so yeah don't think we'll be seeing him for a little while. A shame.

Yeah they didn’t mess about getting him off, be surprised if we see him this side of Christmas.

Luckily we’ve got Downs to fall back on until then 🤯
