YouTube keep suggesting this guy to me.

Aside from the Azaz rumour, he reckons three clubs are after BBD. One of them is Boro, maybe potentially a cash + player swap. I've not seen that mentioned elsewhere

So maybe the deal is £12m for Azaz plus we give them BBD plus £2m as a Thank you?🤣

Very well presented, I see he offers a subscription channel. The naming of the Channels and associated prices was amusing.

Is this the modern, enhanced replacement for the COT? and is he already a member of the COT?

He doesn't claim any itk status. Seems like a good guy though, he started his channel after his divorce and he was lonely. More power to him.

Who has said Azaz isn't prem quality? Regarding Spertsyan, the entire 90 minutes of the game on Sunday was available to watch.

Dusic on here I saw, but plenty more on X too.

I’m not certain he can or will in that Palace team - only that he’s got some similar characteristics - ball dribbling skills and playing off the wing.
Oh, and probably most importantly that Palace may try £35m cash plus sell-on plus Rak-Sakiy thrown in -and that might tempt Saints.
In any case I think Spurs are a better fit. The supporters would love his style of play- they’ve had magicians like Ardiles, Hoddle, Waddle and of course Gascoigne. They always appreciate that type of player. Though they will not want to pay what we want unless totally desperate!

Oh- and they took a young GarethBale from us and he didn’t turn out bad!

I posted on here a while back how worried I was if Dibling goes to Spurs - they'll claim him as they did Gareth Bale and our song. Bloody oiks. So entitled and deluded.

So I hope he goes to Palace to get Spurs fans frothing at the mouth even more - it's so funny to hear.

The Boro lad sounds like a potentially good buy, after all of these Armenian dalliances.

We still need a keeper though

PS I totally get that Romeu to us is highly unlikely - was merely expressing how much I rate him.

Assuming Azaz does sign and is the creative midfielder mentioned a while ago. What do we want to see come in next and in total? For me: Winger, DM cover, RB on loan and 3rd choice GK

Posted (edited)

Assuming Fernandes and dibling are sold:

Bazunu

RB loan THB Stephens Wellington/manning

Downes Charles

New winger Robinson/fraser

Azaz

Downs/stewart

Isn't too bad a team.

I saw on X that 3 clubs were looking a BBD , I think it was WBA, Sheff Utd and another I cant recall. Only X and so probably rubbish. I will try and find link, it was somethin like Saints Extra ,

Just found it, Boro also interested. Sports Boom the initial outlet. As I say probably nonsense. I will await COT to confirm

We'd almost certainly replace Fernandes if he were sold, otherwise we're back to the situation of relying on Smallbone to provide box to box for our midfield should we get any injuries. Too risky, as Downes will pickup injuries and Charles will pickup suspensions.

I expect us to bring in the Azaz type without any key sales, but the sales of Dibling and Fernandes should then allow us to bolster CM, Number 9 and further wide options.

No chance we’re signing another 9.

Would absolutely take Romeu on a free (if we can shift some of the deadwood; Smallbone, Aribo). Bring him on late on to shore up the defence and see out a game. People have been calling for a DM to sit back break up the play, as Downes and Charles do tend to get forward.

I'd also trust him to lead/influence the dressing room more than I do Stephens.

Is he going to be the Romeuwe remember, is it 3 years ago tht he left. Time really does effect a defensive midfielders mobility, I know Id just scrape into the side now im 65 wheras 3 years ago id be first choice. Its a bugger time you know

He left back to Spain for family reasons, can't see why he would move back. Plus we must be able to find a more mobile player in that position....any goods ones at Hoffenheim??!

Met him a few times at away games he is a decent bloke. Doesn’t claim any ITK status just lives Saints.

All I will say re Azaz, quality player at this level. Good signing.

On a non footballing level, i hope Saints evaluate the religion factor too, specifically during today’s world context, of having people from different religious backgrounds (jews and muslims mixing together) and its not going to affect squad morale.
Have had the case at work and they just ignore each other.

I am pretty certain Romeu is going to re-join Girona on a free now that he's officially left Barcelona.

I still think our squad is light a Jehovah’s Witness or two but otherwise I agree.

would a Russian in Spertsyan - born and bred in Russia but chose Armenia for football - be any better considering the war in Ukraine

someone of Irish/Jewish background born in England would be a lot less problematic surely

Quite the Irish contingent.

Bazunu, Manning, Smallbone, Azaz(?) and I think there are a couple of promising youth players as well.

The supermarkets in Winchester will have to start stocking Taytos.

Feels unrealistic and unlikely, but wild if we end up with both him and Azaz. Surely would spell the end for Smallbone at least and you would expect Matsuki out on loan if that happens

Regardless I think Smallbone is on his way out. He'll have suitors though, can easily see him in a mid to top half Championship side.

Am taking from this that the president it the hold up and they've been putting pressure on him.  So with a day or 2 i assume Friday if no other bids come in we can get the deal done ?

I suspect this is the plan. Aribo, Smallbone, Matsuki all out. leaving us with;

6/8: Downes, Charles, Sesey, Fernandes?,

10: Azaz?, The russian?

Pretty balanced (and very, very strong at this level), I'd say.

The vast majority of Spurs fans appear not to want Dibling.

A centre forward. We can't rely on Downs and Stewart will never be fit.

West Ham ITK exWHUEmployee's most recent update:

“West Ham and Southampton are still miles apart in their valuations of the player. The club have denied reports that they have bid £40m and have said that this is far too much for him, but Southampton are said to be looking for around £50m for the player.

“It is thought that West Ham’s offer currently sits at £32m with a few clauses on top. Unless one party seriously budges, it looks like a deal will be hard to conclude. We are looking at inserting various add-ons to try and get closer to the price but there is still a long way to go.”

Just ridiculous we are never going to agree to that. Wasting our time.

Get the impression they're trying to low-ball and force the player to kick up a fuss. Seemingly unsucessful, as it stands.
