"Dylan often plays with the 21s and we do need three keepers on training at times, so just for numbers I think we'll look to bring someone in," said Still.
"I think it would be tricky or we'd be putting pressure on people that we don't need to put pressure on yet if we didn't, just in terms of numbers.
"But we need to get the profile and the person right, and that person needs to come in and actually help the other two keepers and not create chaos.
"So we're just assessing the situation and trying to get the right person in."

If you want an actual answer it's quite easy to find fwiw.

Just seen this post, even more worrying then.

Helping is not the same a competing, so we are stuck with Bazunu for the season then.

Not bed wetting or a championship manager aficionado, but oh my, we are screwed.

Back from the pub to see thousands of new posts. Turns out that nothing of interest has happened though. Must be a day off. 😝

I'd rather we go for Mathew Ryan on a free.

Why is Bazunu our number one choice keeper? We can kiss promotion goodbye with him between the posts. Lad has Weetabix wrists can't catch a cold let alone a flaming football.

Not impressed with Spors so far,  We need a few heavy hitter signings this week no pissing about, trying to be clever and cutting corners. Put the reddies on the table and get some players who will hit the ground running and who will strengthen the squad immediately.

Either Still has been told that Bazunu is our #1 and to suck it up, or Still and the GK coaches think he is good enough to be #1.

Either way, it doesn't reflect well on the management in the dressing room or the Boardroom.

A truly fantastic transfer window this is turning into, one for the ages.

If Spors continues on this trajectory and we lose to fucking Pompey I really think St Mary’s will be more toxic than ever.

So we are supposed to be signing?

And of those, who will we actually get?

or will it be panic buys after we sell MF on deadline day?

Can we make this a poll?

Except, we were promoted with Baz and Macca last time around.

And that was behind a LegoHead-coached 'defence'.

Our keeper options aren't a disaster.

I do love a signing being written off largely based of opposition fans reviews. Even more so when it's a 3rd choice keeper on loan. Think more recruitment teams should conduct their business based on messageboards and texts from mates tbh.

I’d say that far more often than not, looking at fans’ views of a player is a pretty good barometer of how they’re going to work out.

So we potentially get left with 3 x 1st choice keepers? We're not Chelsea, players won't stand for that. We couldn't even sell our number one keeper this Summer, let alone trying to sell a couple more next season.

I would settle for 1 first team gk

Agree. Been around this forum far long enough to know it hardly ever gets it wrong, about players or managers.

Apart from a few famed posters of course.

Are you expecting a different 30,000 from the ones who normally attend ?

I’d like to think you’re right but in truth the ‘tutting’ and groaning might be turned up a notch and that will be it.

That was in spite of them, wouldn't hang my hat on this tbf.

So a CM, winger, AM and a spot left.

Plenty.

Do you think they’re capable of bringing in four outfield players of automatic promotion calibre by the weekend unless they are more Brentford cast-offs Rasmus knows (not saying the RB is a bad signing btw)?

Baz is clearly the number 1 and has been good so far. Mac ain't realistically going to be number 3.

We needed a number 3 and got one.

The expectation from some is ridiculous.

Unfortunately it’s this sort of managed decline that the club has presided over which has got us where we are over the last 10 years. Constantly believing players are good enough when they just aren’t.

Because we may have Ramsdale back next season as our Number 1. Someone competent is not coming here as our third choice keeper.

Not sure Ramsdale will see mid table championship as the best thing for his aspirations.

Just signed a keeper

Long from Norwich.

anyone know anything about him?

Based on the Norwich replies on Southampton’s tweet announcing him, fans appear to be glad he’s off the wage bill

We were never going to sign a new first pick when we have our number 1 still on our books ready to come back if we go up. Absolutely mental to think we'd sign a new number 1 for this season only. Just was never going to happen.

Agree. It's this attitude towards recruitment that has us on a downward spiral under SR.

If Saturday didn't bring home to roost the difference a GK can make ten nothing will.

Another year of crisp packet hands. One of the first I wanted out of the door.

I get that but we all watched Johansson play superbly against us for Rotherham and he's now at Stoke while we have inferior Bazunu as our first choice.

There’s merit in working with a slimmed down squad. One is that it fosters greater personal responsibility and allows for more intensive one to one work with coaches ( think a classroom with 20 kids or one with 30- which is easier to teach with and to what higher standard might be possible if main teacher has more time with each of them?)  and a better, tighter, team spirit. If Will is that good then with fewer in the squad his added value Manager/coaching skill will be reaped-not diluted perhaps like at present.

Is there no end to the shit you spout? It’s not a fucking infants school teaching a load of kids to count it’s elite sport you clown

Why couldn't we loan a first choice to replace Ramsdale? Didn't have to be a permanent signing. Patted our backs on the £4m loan fee received for Ramsdale, but not going to use any of it to help fill his place in the squad for a year. If we replace Dibling and Fernandes with players already at the club we'd all be disappointed. This is a similar situation, albeit we didn't get £30m+ for Ramsdale.

What's that got to do with us having 3 senior keepers already on our books? Stoke signing someone last summer doesn't have any impact on our dealings this summer does it.

The point I'm making is that Johansson was available to us at that time - we could have signed him for not much money.

Think Ipswich might be ahead even with the Dibling deal, surely there's a website out there tracking such things ?

I tell you what, this week is going to have to equal 'Insane levels' of signings in the final few days in order for us to move the yardstick on where this window currently sits.

Still time.....not giving up hope yet.
