Indeed. Would be a bizarre signing if Still himself didn't think he was much cop back then...

Anyway, Dragan reassured us at the end of last season that they've learned from their mistakes, so I can't see us signing any mediocre players any time soon...

Our gag originally was going to have "Listen, are you sure this is what you wanted? We actually quite like you."

It would have shown a shred of empathy. But it would have weakened the punch of the joke.

It would also have cost valuable typing seconds, in which someone else could have posted a similar, yet, vastly inferior non top 10 version, and made us look silly.

And that's today's top comedy tip, as LegalEagle is taken away sobbing after after all the abuse. 

It's fine to destroy someone through being massively insulting, as long as you get there first for the clicks!

We’re buying players like we’re Preston North End, not a side with parachute payments and 30k+ sellouts every week.  Not particularly impressed at the moment but hopefully that changes.

Bloody hell, just checked and he’s still only 30. That would be an immense signing. Way better than anything we have up front.

The window’s been pretty lackluster so far. It’s clear they’re struggling to manoeuvre with such a bloated squad.

Which is understandable, no point bringing in more additions while we’re still stuck with deadwood we can’t shift.

The interest in Fernandes and Dibling makes the decision tougher do we stick with both, sell both, or just keep one?

If selling one opens the door to bringing in a winger or two so Still can fully implement his style, would that be the right call?

As for the whole Spertsyan saga, just put the offer on the table and move on to other targets, we can’t afford to sit around waiting for his head to be turned by bigger clubs.

Something about this whole affair screams Gakpo, dragging on until someone bigger swoops in.

It’d be nice to finally land a marquee signing. Like I said before, the window’s been lackluster, we all want that one player who can come in and generate some real excitement, right?

Hopefully things are progressing in the background and we start to see some real movement and changes 🙏

If our scouting has genuinely improved, we need to be finding players like Tanaka, Torp, Sakamoto, Wright, Van Ewijk, Bogle, Gruev etc. None of those cost big bucks, just well scouted and well suited players who slot straight into the team. No clever bollock kid signings, just ready-made starters.

If Coventry and Leeds can obtain those sorts in the Championship, then there's no reason why we can't.

Yep absolutely, be great if they do.  Quashie needs to learn how to control and pass though ;) . Downs will score goals, he's got a presence about him.

I don't like how some of our fan base have already written those off though, just reading social media and there are people saying they shouldn't play for us again.

Good post. I sensing a rising level of concern today not just about the lack of transfers in and out but the players we have brought in and are now being linked with. We've heard nothing else positive about the likes of fellows and Rudoni and are instead being linked with this new bloke that his current club hate. I'll be honest, I was expecting a slightly higher quality of player. Downs and Quarshie may come good but at the moment I'd say they are both solid squad players but I wouldn't be expecting them to play every week if our aspiration is to win the league. Downs for instance looks like he could potentially be a decent signing but at present he's a definite downgrade if his this year's Adams replacement. 

Maybe a lot will hinge on if we sell Dibling or not but I wouldn't describe our transfer incomings as ambitious so far and I'm beginning to question Spors and his strategy - albeit he has a couple more weeks to prove me wrong.

Because we have a lot of cocks in our fan base. But also our recent history of signings has been so bad we’re almost surprised when one works out

You’ve probably never knowingly seen him play so you have no idea of his quality.

They’ve played at most 2 full games and you’ve made wild conclusions about their squad role this season.

Don’t judge people in charge of recruitment at the end of August.
