no name was ever mentioned but i'm guessing the player being referred to is the Armenian guy who IF we do end up signing would appear to be quite the coup.

Krasnador seem to have no interest in selling to us and I suspect assume they will be able to convince him to sign a new contract if they can hold on to him before the end of the month. Sure I've seen it mentioned that we've actually offered him a salary less than his current wage albeit with a pay rise if we go up.

The guy on twitter who @ArmenieFootball gets some of his info from is @gotna. He said yesterday that he and some other journalists should be speaking to Spertsyan today so there might be something later. If he is contuining his lines of speaking to the president, still happy at Krasnodar etc then its obviously done. Feels lile he would need to make it publically very clewr he wants to go for there even to be a chance.

Interesting that Still had a chance yesterday to say directly that it wasn't happening and he didn't, so they must feel there is some chance perhaps?

Still have quite a few that need moving on in the next 10 days or so. Didn't Still say yesterday there would be some movement before the weekend? Presumably one of Edozie or Aribo?

A bit concerned that all the press hasnt got others knocking on the door!!! If he is so goo then we should be a tad concerned he's not that all!!

He also talked about Kabore when he already knew Roerslev was done so I wouldn’t read anything into his comments.

Not necessarily. We're probably looking to operate within an existing wage structure, and any apparent shortfall in wages from his current salary could easily be made up by a generous signing on fee.

If we don't go up, then if he lives up to billing he probably won't be here next season. Everton and West Ham will start the bidding at £2m after the last ball is kicked in 2025/26 season.

As far as I can work out, a lot hinges on who we shift.

Obviously there’s Tyler and Fernandes, but you’d imagine Edozie, Aribo, Taylor, one of Suga or Bree, probably BBD and Smallbone, possibly Wood (maybe on loan), Nico Lawrence at least on loan, maybe loans for a Bragg or (less likely) Sesay.  And you’d think we’d consider bids for THB, ArmA, Archer, Downes, McCarthy and Manning if someone wanted any of them and were prepared to pay the right fee.  Almost anything could still happen so I’m pretty relaxed about the state of the incomings.  You can’t buy 10 players and risk having a squad of 35-40 without knowing what you’ve sold.

Should we somehow keep Tyler and Fernandes, I reckon we need 1 winger and a 3rd choice keeper and that’s pretty much it.

Of course I’d like a better keeper and a proper number 9, plus a proper number 10 if I was being super greedy. But we’d have a good enough squad to mount a proper title challenge  if that was it IMHO.

He did mention movement before the end of the week, but not sure if that was Roerslev or more specific to some outgoings. I felt at the start of the week that we'd sign five more before the window shuts - those five being: first choice RB, two wingers (one buy, one loan), a No. 10 and a backup GK - and I still feel like that's a realistic return

The old recruiters used to love a left-back. We signed two last summer in Taylor and Wellington when we already had Manning, Larios and Meghoma (left on deadline day) at the club. All five signed in the last three years as well.

Maybe the new ones love a right-back and we're going to sign Kabore as well? 😂

Doubt it will happen now, but I was a fan of the Kabore link. Fits the profile of being athletic, good going forward and has the potential to grow with us and become a Premier League right-back, as he didn't look too bad at Luton a few years back. But, maybe he was too expensive, and we're trying to avoid too many loans this window.

I always felt this was likely to happen. Be interesting to see who we target to replace him, clubs will know we're totally loaded now.

The next 10 days are going to be nuts.

Having said that I dont think it is a bad deal and hopefully provides funds to keep us competitive.

I understood that the club preferred to lose Dibling but keep Fernandes, especially with Robinson looking a decent player in the offing

There was a crazy media story at the start of the window which said we put a £100m price tag on him, as we valued him at close to Grealish or something daft.

I don't think that came from the club though, weird rumour.

Big gamble by Everton. He’s proved nothing yet and the jury is still out as to whether he’ll be a top player. Great business from us especially with Robinson as a ready made replacement. Now let’s get this Armenian chap in. Give their Chairman a large brown envelope and it will happen.

Pretty good deal to be fair, credit where it’s due to the club for that one.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on…  hope for his sake he kicks on now and fulfils his potential. Going to be a lot of pressure on him early with that fee.

Lets hope we spend it wisely (for a change).

I think we'd have all taken Dibling as the big sale to reinvest in the squad this summer and if it gives us a better chance of keeping Fernandes. There's still a lot of question marks over Dibling following his end of season form, better players have not met their potential, etc. Or better yet, he becomes a superstar and gets sold on, and this time we don't trade the sell on for Everton's version of Tommy Forecast. Plus his contract situation, which Dibling had no intention of signing an extension to didn't help from our side.

Pure profit, so helps with PSR. Sold for more than Sunderland got for Jobe Bellingham this summer and we've seen their spending power this summer. Key thing is now we don't waste the money as we have done so much of in recent history. Use this for Still to get his required squad and win promotion. Up the Saints.

You've seen it. It is obviously utter bullshit from the Russian side who are trying to make out we are too small time for their golden boy.

We will be paying names like Aribo more than the Armenian is on now.

That’s one perspective. 
I prefer to be a little more positive and appreciate he has made us £40+ million that we wouldn’t have got if he hadn’t come back from Chelsea. 
If he is a success, we will get more profit. He wasn’t signing a new deal so surely this is the best for all parties. 
the key is where we spend the money. No point frittering it away on players with four year contracts who can’t cut it in the Prem.

I’m really not bothered what the “inside track” is. Good for him, good for us. £40 million plus sell on is fantastic business, it may finance our promotion. We don’t know if his potential is ever going to be realised, if it is then we will it seems benefit from that. I also don’t think getting the crap kicked out of him every week would be good for him and  one final point, what would have been achieved by forcing a player to stay against his will and then having to let him go for a fraction of what we will get now?
