West Brom fans fuming

I'd be livid if I was a Baggie. Selling one of your better players to a promotion rival for a pittance?

a quick google search shows that WBA were wanting about 20m for Fellows, Leeds and Everton were interested. You'd think if we're negotiating with WBA then we've been told he wants to come here

We stated we wanted £100m for Dibling at one point. If the big clubs, and in Fellows case I mean PL clubs, are not bidding, then the parachute clubs are the only option, and despite selling players, splashing £20m seems a bit much to me. WBA need to sell players to cover losses. Heggem's fee probably wasn't big. I'd of thought we could get a better deal than £20m.

all the noise seems to be 10m which, if true, is a great deal for a top quality championship player.

Wow, £10m.

WBA fans wanted £20m.

I read on the WBA forum this morning the quote:

"Any less than £25m and we riot"

So 10 is a bargain

I'm not sure how much of an improvement we're getting on quality with all these ins and outs (although I hope at least some).

BUT, we've had a shit defeatist attitude for several seasons and a shit system drilled into the players by RM. The more players with that scar tissue we can ship out and replace with new ones the better.

West Brom ITK (who broke it initially) saying £10m potentially rising to £15m, which makes some more sense.

Seems about right for a layer deemed not good enough for the PL by PL clubs.

I had a faint hope of Fellows after the Alfie House Tweet, but it didn't sound convincing. Sounded like one we were hopeful of and were going to negotiate and "try for" until the last few hours of deadline day. So, this has all moved very quickly. Good price, good player.

Despite losing Tyler and Fernandes, we're building a very good championship side here.

Hopefully Still will now be able to move to 4-2-3-1 and the offensive options are very exciting

Athletic Journo saying £10m package so that would include any add-ons, but agree £10m plus and another £5m would seem closer, although still a bit low to me.

So Fellows, Azaz, Jander, combinded fees of around 32m. That's most of the Dibling money spent and pretty well spent too.

Still go, probably Edozie, BBD, Smallbone definitely Fernandes, another 55-60m in the bank.

If we can get rid of those first 3 plus the ones already gone then we've done a very good job of clearing the squad out and bringing in some proven championship quality.

Wonder if there will be any other incomings.....👀

£8m + £2m apparently

Feel like I let the frustration get the better of me a bit this morning. Lots of ifs and buts but if we get fellows and Azaz over the line and this dm in then I think we are in a pretty good position with players overall that fit the system we want to play well. If we got a striker in too I'd be quite excited but lots still to happen to get there.

Hope we can get all of this done in time for them to be in the squad on Saturday.

If not, they’ll have an interesting debut.

Azaz isn't higher quality than Fernandes. Fellows isn't as good as Dibling. We have not increased the quality there, but we have improved the quality on what was left after both depart (assuming Fernandes deal goes through). That's all we can do.

I agree with you. A big change of personnel, assuming the guys coming in are decent, is probably a good thing after the debacle of last season.

...and the wage bill will have been clobbered too. Lots of big earners gone, although I'm sure those three new guys aren't signing for buttons.

I know whats been said about not doing the loan market but seriously if one of the big boys has a striker they want to loan out but not sell just for a season we would be mad not to jump on that.

That would obviously be a late in the day Monday thing.

£10m is a lovely bit of business for Fellows.

I appreciate attack isn't viewed a priority area for upgrade (with Archer, Armstrong, Downs, Stewart, and BBD),  but if I were Spors, I'd be trying to move on BBD and one of Armstrong/Stewart and try to get Sargent. I presume wages with Prem teams sniffing around (and a £15-£20m fee) make that tricky for us.

We’ve all been there… usually in the 1st half 😂

I actually got a private message from someone telling me about Fellows before the news broke so it calmed me down a bit!

Man, you are very positive on here Turkish these days. Like it.

Guilavogui could still be coming and I'd of thought a Bree replacement might be on the cards.

Isn't Roerslev the RB replacement? With Bree/Edwards/Stephens as cover?

Glad we're turning over a good chunk of the squad here. Need fresh faces and fresh personalities in that dressing room.

James Bree is fine as a backup in the Championship. Then, after a promotion we sign a new right back and Mads Roerslev becomes the back up.

I wonder why West brom would accept what is a pretty small fee. Whatiqabted to see though is using our financial muscle to bully some of the less fortunate clubs in our division so that suits me .

Well after waking up sad following all the Fernandes news, the club have at least responded well and given us some optimism going forward despite losing our best player.

This has definitely been a fun morning. We were promised some excitement this window and it has arrived.

Isn't Bree in the last year of his contract?  Would have thought the club would try and get some money now if they can.

That does trouble me a tad... not the best game to be facing before a wodge of new players have had time to bed in and gel....

True, but on the flip side, I wouldn’t want the lineup we currently have lining up against them either.

We bought him for tiddly squat, I doubt there's any value in selling him

We've lost KWP and Suguwara, so Roerslev replaces one of those, but I wondered if the club might try to move Bree on and then replace him with a player that is a little quicker - so that would two new right backs in total if another came in.
