bpsaint Posted Wednesday at 21:57 Posted Wednesday at 21:57 What a shite fucking draw that is. I know we not gonna win it but it’d be nice to draw someone localish, or a team we don’t play that often to change things up a bit. 3

Is it to do with set schedules for midweek games or something? I have a vague memory of staggered games last season but if honest I can’t say I paid too much attention outside of our own cup games. 1

santolijador Posted Wednesday at 22:05 Posted Wednesday at 22:05 I’m trying to work out when this will be scheduled for. Assuming it will be week commencing 22nd, as if I’m not mistaken, there is a UCL fixture the week before? By complete chance, I am in England for the first time in a long time and I happen to be up North, flying in on the Tuesday night. Fingers crossed for a 23rd Wednesday fixture, shouldn’t have trouble getting tickets…

Do you think the league met and said right we need to fix this draw? Whelk, I fully appreciate that the EFL needed to do something because of UEFA's decisions but there are other options which would at least enable the chance for 2 CL or 2 EL teams to play each other. It's the way that they guarantee the 'top 8' are kept apart that sticks in the throat. 5

Saint86 Posted Wednesday at 22:17 Posted Wednesday at 22:17 Relax guys. Will Still's about to Belgium the fuck out of Liverpool 😏😏 Also - its an absolute disgrace that these European sides get special ceded privileges in the cup draw. They get significantly more prize/TV money (which is locked away from the other EFL clubs) as a reward for playing in Europe and which allows them to build bigger squads to compete - they also have to play the same number of matches regardless of whether they play each other or another team. This is an absolute fix and should stopped as it's frankly the anthesis of English cup football. 6

Agree, I always hope for an away ground we haven't had before (or certainly not for a while), if not that then a lower team at home. We've played Liverpool away every season for past 12 years and it's usually a crap away day, I'm sure will appeal to some of the half and half scarf brigade. We've got loads of travelling around then, away to Hull, Sheffield United and Derby all much more important games and better trips.

Just have a normal draw, if Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa drew a Champions league team then redraw that tie, otherwise no need to keep the 6 champions league teams apart to stop them drawing each other 4

It was UEFA’s reaction to the threat of breakwater European league ensuring a revamp to give clubs more fixtures and subsequent revenue. All the moans indicate this is new to you. And it isn’t a Football League conspiracy it is UEFA’s grab for fixture space and their reaction to it
