Part of the reason I think for the flat atmosphere is a song book that’s limited to a few known chants and wasted on players who are on the bench…(Oriel chants for example)

So what have people got to try and create some new material.

I’ve had a go at altering Dirty Old Town by the Pogues while driving along this morning.

Ships’ fog horns in the evening air,
Saints rolling out with a southern flair,
Red and white pride running through this land,
Dirty old town, dirty old town.

We sing our songs by the Solent shore,
We back the Saints like our dads before,
From Itchen Bridge to the Chapel doors,
Dirty old town, dirty old town.

“Sideways and backwards everywhere we go” may be worth stealing from Birmingham and is very apt for us, would also send a message that we are getting pissed off with the nauseatingly mundane style of football.

The atmosphere is crap because we hardly ever win under Sport Republic and the away fans are next to the family section and the tartan blanket section.

Excuses by people who don’t want to put the effort in to support the team

The new away crowd section definitely has had a negative effect, as has the general hopelessness and decline under our terrible ownership.

How about a modern take on some old classics?

everywhere we go people want to know

Who we are, so we tell them

We’re the people in red, white and black

love to sing love to clap

i come from Southampton the pride of the South

we really don’t like anyone who

comes from Portsmouth

we got lots of lounges and a large climbing wall

When it’s comes to football we win fuck all

It’s to the tune of the Millwall chant . g flat minor - throughout - a “no” tone poem of sorts, to reflect the mood. Or could work to the tune of the death march.

Sideways and backwards everywhere we go” go for that.

fans used to think win this game, now its thus eill be a draw if x,y ,z play, or this fir nation etc

The football is utter crap, its boring wstching Saints and not entertaining. Everywhere you look there are opportunities to get more money frkm fans, tickets expensive and food and drink extortionate. Now reverting to what was seen as crap football is even more crap.  Plus we have a team that costs so much that all teams just want to shorten can beat us.

you can expect fans jn family centre to jump up and down,  swear at awsy and and wind them up. Moving the away fans was a mistake bug also giving them such a large allocation is thd problem

Fans are sat down checking scores kn mobile, e mails, probably on line shopping as nothing interesting to watch on the pitch.

You draw some, yoh lose some its all the same to me. Ace of Spades motorhead.

Red cards worked well at the Port Vale game in ousting Branfoot. Get some printed with Rasmus’s face on.

Problem is that there is no particular focal point for these to be displayed. In Branfoot’s day he walked the touchline to the dugout which gave opportunity for them to be shown.

Rasmus quietly makes his way a few yards to a seat in the Directors box. And if there is any suggestion of protest he’ll either watch it from a private box, or stay away.

Even the Lowe protest, when it was suggested that rubber ducks be thrown on the pitch failed.

True, but a lot more Champ games are televised than used to be the case so chances of the cameras picking it up if we do it on a weekly basis would get onto the round ups and build up pressure. His ego would hate it either way.

Around to the main entrance after the game, and protest. That work in the Branfoot days. It got out of hand as well, that’s for sure. We (not just us, but football fans in general) have forgotten how to protest. We lose, we boo and we go home and complain on forums and social media.

Good luck with that.

Not doubting it could be effective, but I don’t see the appetite or enthusiasm for this among the current ‘match going public’ as opposed to the supporters- of our generation- yesteryear.

We might get a couple of ‘open letters’ from the keyboard generation if you’re lucky.

The car park after Port Vale was quite an experience. If the club didn’t realise before it became apparent that the protests weren’t just a few hot-heads, yobs, and youths but many middle- aged, and grey headed old cunts alike were there ( a category I now subscribe to I’m afraid).

Perhaps his ego rather than the club finances should be the first target.

Or is he such a narcissist that even adverse publicity inflates his ego even further ?

This attitude can get in the bin.

Sold out away allocation after sold out away allocation - all over the country, including last season. Home attendances routinely within 10% of capacity.

People have spent a LOT of their hard-earned supporting the Sport Republic circus - and I absolutely understand a lack of desire to cheer for it, because I'm there too.

It's not even like vocal support really dropped off until a few games ago. Which, again, is totally reasonable.

People have had enough. No wonder.

If there is ever a coordinated protest, it should be at Solak.

I suspect Tommy might be another of Jordy’s log-ons. More plants than Hilliers popping up,

I really like powerfully visual protests which the Board can’t write off as being a “mob minority”.

My favourite is everybody getting in the ground 15 minutes late.

Sheff Wed fans did this brilliantly earlier this season.

However a large section of our fans are more concerned about drinking in the Sport Republic gulags and singing Scouser songs, so the chance of mobilising them into a co-ordinated protest such as this are virtually nil.

Why rebuild the wheel... "Build a Bonfire" or "Oh My Darlin'" depending on your corner of the world...

Build a bonfire, Build a bonfire,

Put RAAAASSSMUS on the top,

Put Solak in the middle,

And we'll burn the f'in lot.
