Tommy Mulgrew Posted Saturday at 20:26 Posted Saturday at 20:26 If Norwich can hammer them so can we. Let’s put a big dent in Ipswich’s present goal advantage over us and keep up the pressure on Milwall. 2
Pilchards Posted Saturday at 20:30 Posted Saturday at 20:30 Get the best team on from the start and go at it. Then freshen it up second half and nail them for taking our unbeaten record a couple of years back. 7
Sheaf Saint Posted Saturday at 20:34 Posted Saturday at 20:34 Their defeat at home to Norwich today means they can't now mathematically make the playoffs (not that they were ever likely to). Hopefully with nothing left to play for we should be able to capitalise and make amends for our awful showing at Ashton Gate earlier in the season. 1
saintant Posted Saturday at 20:47 Posted Saturday at 20:47 They'll make it tough but Norwich scoring 4 at Ashton Gate today shows they have defensive issues which we should be able to exploit. 3-1 Saints for me.
Mboto Gorge Posted Saturday at 21:10 Posted Saturday at 21:10 Feel that Woy will make it a very cagey scrappy game and will sit behind the ball for long periods. 1-0 win will do, and have a feeling it could go that way whereby it’s a bit nervy at times and we struggle to break them down . Conceding 4 at home today, he’s likely to double down on being defensive away from home to a side on record breaking winning form. 1
Oisin Posted Saturday at 21:32 Posted Saturday at 21:32 Absolutely go with the strongest possible team - if Ipswich drop points tomorrow we’ll have the chance to move second. Just applying that sort of pressure on the others will be huge I think, given the context of our run and form. Cant afford to pass the opportunity up to get ahead of Millwall and either ahead or level with Ipswich if we are to have any chance of automatic promotion. Still have to pinch myself that we’re in the mix. Unbelievable 1

macca155 Posted Saturday at 21:46 Posted Saturday at 21:46 (edited) Everything is predicated on both Millwall and Ipswich dropping points, but if Saints are going to overtake Ipswich's GD, then not only must they win, they need to win by a few. No good going to Preston needing to win 3 or 4 nil. Need to ramp up the pressure every game. Ridiculous, under normal circumstances a win would be sufficient, but this is the situation we find ourselves in. We have to ask the impossible. All it needed was better management in Aug, Sept, and October, dreadful now we look back at it. Edited Saturday at 21:48 by macca155 2

sfc4prem Posted Saturday at 22:04 Posted Saturday at 22:04 Time to banish the Bristolian poltergeist once and for all. We've not reached 4th or 5th gear recently. It'd be nice to do that on Tuesday and put a few past them in a really convincing manner.
Baird of the land Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Guessing, Stephens, fellows, Charles, larin rotate back in. Wonder if archer might start & scienza play the last 30. 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Going to be about 6 changes again. reckon wellington will get 20 mins or so
LiberalCommunist Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago People often mention Bristol City ending our 25 game unbeaten streak in 2024. But its the other one that still pains me. The one in December 2011. We were flying, we were on the up. And we hadn't lost a league game at home since February. And then Bristol fecking City turn up. I hope we put this to bed, because I don't think I can take the treble from hell. That would put them in forever bogey territory. 2

Ticket sales look strong, fair play big week for our fans , not many left mainly in Chapel block 20. Bristol City traditionally bring a big support to us , not sure how many travelling this time with it being midweek and nothing to play for.
RedWillie Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago They haven't sold out. Still about 950 left for their fans. Guess nothing to play for but they normally sell out in recent meetings with us regardless.
Badger Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Reading the report of their game v Norwich yesterday I see that they’ve got that nasty little bastard Morsy playing for them.

Yeah their away followings last few weeks have been very poor, they got nowhere near selling out at Charlton and also couldn't sell out the small allocation at QPR on a Saturday, I think if they have 950 left then they've only sold 1000 based on initial allocation they received https://www.bcfc.co.uk/ticket-info/saints-away-set-for-priority-sale/
benjii Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) I would expect a Woy team that's just shipped 4 goals and has nothing to play for to park the bus. Although that's based on virtually no knowledge of their actual team. Anyhoo, I think we need to play the strongest team with goals / creativity in it and try to put the game to bed inside 60 mins. Azaz looked a bit laboured yesterday and Scienza played more minutes than he usually does, so I wonder if the data will be saying they should start on the bench. I also wonder if it's THB's turn for a rest? Anyway, if all are well I'd probably go: Perry Bree THB Stevo Manning Charles Downes Archer/Fellows Matsuki Scienza/Archer Larin Aim to give Welington at least half an hour if possible. Swansea had nothing to really play for either but they certainly made it difficult. 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Pretty clear that Leo is being protected for the City game - he’ll be essential if we’re to compete. Probably get some game time in the last 15 mins. Reckon Wood might start again and Matsuki. Think Stewart starts and the Larin/Archer partnership is used later in the game too. Bragg and Downes to start perhaps. Rest of the team is the same as Swansea start. 2-0 Saints. 1
coalman Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Need another win. Need some luck from other fixtures. No change from the last couple of months. 4-0 Saints
saintant Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If we win and Millwall and Ipswich both fail to win on Tuesday we can guarantee 2nd spot by winning our final 2 games at home to Ipswich and away to Preston. Not beyond the realms of possibility 🙂 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Peretz, Bree, THB, Stephens, Manning, Bragg, Charles, Matsuki, Fellows, Archer, Larin Wellington to get 20+ mins, Wood to come on, Edozie to get mins, and probably Stewart for Larin on the hour as per.

saintant Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 7 wins and 2 draws at home since our last league defeat plus the win over Arsenal in FA Cup. Let's make it 8 league wins on Tuesday.
LiberalCommunist Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I initially thought it was the calendar year, so googled it, and it said Feb. Might be counting a cup game.
pimpin4rizeal Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) To be honest I don’t mind us resting a few key players like scienza azaz etc with an eye on keeping the best players fresh for city . The whole squad is contributing at the moment so there isn’t much drop off in performance, could see us giving archer another start whilst he’s hot Edited 7 hours ago by pimpin4rizeal 1
Osvaldorama Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Another one that I’m a bit worried about as I feel like they’ve been a bit of a bogey team for us over the years? Maybe I’m imagining it but it feels like they always play really well against us.
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yesterday Saints beat City. Tuesday Saints will (hopefully) beat City. Saturday Saints will (probably) beat City. 3 1
saintwbu Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago To be honest i’ll be happy if they come and park the bus, we’ve not struggled to break teams down recently - Oxford and Blackburn in particular were well dealt with. My memory of Bristol City is them completely outplaying us at Ashton Gate the last two times we’ve played there - at least Mehmeti has left now, he tore us apart earlier in the season.

Yeah it was to go a whole calendar year unbeaten in the league, top vs bottom, on the 30th December and they fucking beat us 1-0. Sure they had that skate bastard David James in goal too.

Are you suggesting we don't play him at all before the City game and let him go into it completely rusty with a pat on the back and a couple of tips on how to deal with one of the best attacking lines in world football?
