Unless M’bro have some damming evidence that isn’t in the public domain yet, this case has all the legitimacy of a Prem prima donna getting a light touch in the box, going down like he has been poleaxed and not only screaming for a penalty, but for his team to be awarded the game as the foul constituted some very very  serious cheating.

They could get damming evidence if they beavered about.

If it's 24 hours, then I'm guessing the clubs will be informed today then an announcement in the morning

You'd think they'd want to tell the ppl that it directly affects (fans) asap/

The opposite for me. Which causes more turmoil if announced late a) us being kicked out or b) fine and points deduction?

Indeed, they will take the full time allocation and when the announcement does come it will likely be 'out of hours'.  There will be an awareness of the potential reactions of both clubs and respective sets of supporters.

If we were being kicked out I'm pretty sure we'd have heard about it by now.

I'll be amazed if leaks don't start to appear at some point this evening.

At the very least, you'd imagine we'd have an understanding of what the potential punishment looks like.

Releasing the photo damaged their claims a lot, they initially said he was found hiding in the bushes with a load of high tech equipment including a directional microphone, then they release that and it's clear he was stood in plain sight on a pathway with a camera phone. If he DID have all the equipment, it would make sense that they were suspicious.

The first comment I heard from the media  was that he was on a grassy knoll. I thought they'd found out who shot JFK. Turns out it was an even bigger conspiracy than that one.

Relax, out of the two Boro players performing the execution, the first missed Tonda,s neck and the other was too tired to pull the lever.

There has, rightly, been a lot of criticism of the ridiculous Borough forum posts.

Unfortunately this forum is in danger of plumbing the same levels the last few days.

One thing we do know for sure though, the new Muse song did get released today after the past few days of leaks 😍

It all makes more sense when you realise that nobody gives a single fuck about the fans

Yep. All the EFL will care about is their ££ here.

Moving away from Wembely will seriously hurt their pockets.

Will the conduct of Middlesbrough during this have any bearing on the severity of the punishment do you think or is it irrelevant?

I think you will be able to, as it will surely drop in most papers at the same time (normally get told a time to release certain news), and then Alfie House / Adam Blackmore will also comment giving a more balanced view of preceedings...

Tonda looks like he's been beaten in this photo. In the words of Richard Littlejohn 'the yumane rights lawyers will be all over this.'

Shouldn't have anything to do with it. But I wouldn't mind betting once the dust has settled if our punishment indicates that the EFL considers it only a minor infringement as rules go,  then Boro might be facing a bringing the game into disrepute charge for their wild accusations and protestations.

I assume we’ve got a 24 hour delay to proceedings because the panel spent the first day pissing themselves at Middlesbrough?

Someone posted earlier (really CBA to go back through all the posts to find out who) that KCs really don't take kindly to being leaned on in an attempt to unduly influence an outcome, so it's possible that this will be accounted for in their deliberations.

I'm surprised how quiet it has been. I guess because Middlesbrough aren't involved they can't leak anything until they've heard the outcome.

Their fans are as deluded as ever 😂

We’ll hurt their pockets even more should they stupidly remove us from the playoffs. Hit them so hard that they well put them out of business.

You do wonder if they had been told of an indication at that point. It seems very foolish to put that out just before the hearing unless they thought that public opinion and pressure would influence things positively from their perspective.

Damage control from their end towards their fans. "we tried but the world is against us" etc etc.

The fact there has relative silence and no more leaks from their NE media puppets since that tells its own story in my opinion.

They fucked up massively with that statement.

Tempting fate maybe but if the EFL were remotely minded to kick us out of the play offs they would have pushed to get that out and communicated by now.

We’ve sold out our end FFS.

That was me. It is noticeable over the past few days that they’ve been much quieter as a club. I suspect their legal team told them to pipe down.

A penalty shootout to decide whether we are guilty or not sounds a bit "different" I'm fairly confident we have the players to do the business from 12yds... 🤔😁

Alternatively maybe do one of the half time relays to sort out our guilt. Saints staff vs EFL. Need a 6 man team: Parsons, Eckert, Solak, Spors, Salt & Sammy Saint for me. Not sure who the EFL would bring. Panel member in goal and Benny Hill music to set the scene.

Its such a stupid decision to sell tickets and have fans book travel,  accommodation with the caveat of read the small print as you may not be going. EFL know exactly what on the table for sanctions, if they kick Saints out of final that's incompetence at the highest level.

It will have been noticed and noted, but they aren't party to proceedings and if this is a competent Panel they would need to shut out the noise as much as possible, as difficult as that may be.  All this nonsense about bullying etc. is silly, as they can only relate to the complaint and the two regs breached in this instance.  Put simply, we don't even know the position being taken up by Saints in response to these two charges, and that is where the actions / sanctions will flow from.  If for instance, SFC have proved that there is no direct / or a tenuous link to Salt as an ex-intern, or that he was acting independently per se (best case scenario of course), then potentially Middlesbrough could be in the soup with both the EFL and the law.

If you're going to pretend to be a saints fan, at least use some obscure player like Tommy widdrington or Mark draper in your username.
