Huge pressure now to get this appointment 100% right. It had to be a ‘name’ manager who both fans and remaining players can get behind right away. Dream scenario would be Thomas Frank but highly doubtful he would take it so you are looking at Dyche, Viera, Gerrard, Ralph maybe even Southgate?

These would be terrible options when it comes to the actual football games though but hey a name for a bit would be fun. Can’t honestly believe people still believe this ‘name’ tripe when we’ve just got 20 games unbeaten with someone they were all vehemently against last time for the same reasons 🤣

I'm sure there aren't many managers who can add the Vertu EFL trophy to their resume on top of multiple European winners medals so I say bring Emery in for a long term project and when we hit League One, that's his time to shine.

it’s a fair point but it’s the traits that matter. The humility and desire to coach a team to be better over a season. I’m not convinced Gerrard or Viera have shown that they have that recently in their previous jobs and Dyche certainly hasn’t. Suspect Ralph and Southgate have lost the energy for it too. Lampard still had something to prove as a manager really and has shown throughout his career he’s happy to improve young players which suits a Championship job. Great if you can find a big name with those traits and ability but they are rare and we need to find someone the players can be galvanised by in their daily work rather than just their name because it sounds good to begin with. And someone who knows the rules.

I think this is a definite Tonda has to go and he should be gone before the weekend.

Then we really do need a manager that will bring trust and stability that will hopefully mean that not all of our best players leave in the summer.

We cannot go for a manager no one has heard of as it could all implode if we do.

Then we go again and hopefully get top2 next season.

Didn't light the world on fire at Spurs (Who has) but did win a trophy. Blip at Forrest but otherwise tested and proven.

Think he would bring the right level of stability and communication that we need. Not as boring as watching Dyche ball.

In terms of new manager (I'm assuming Tonda goes) then a lot will depend on Spors and what happens to him.  Even if Spors didn't know what was going on, there's an argument that he probably should have done.  If Spors goes then do we then bring in a new DoF (or whatever the job title is) and then appoint a manager?  You don't really want to rush either of those decisions and that's without all the complications of summer transfer dealings.  Not sure about anyone else but I'd rather not have Rasmus taking a more hands on approach.

This is the problem with the sack pretty much everyone argument.  We're going to be way behind everyone else in a season where we otherwise would have had a bit of an advantage over the relegated sides and all the churn they nearly always get.

SR have repeatedly got managerial appointments wrong.

Even Tonda was a gamble, that somehow paid off. At least until the cheating revelations and now even that  is looking like an expensive mistake.

They won't be going for anyone tried and trusted at all. It will be nobody you've ever heard of.

On second thoughts he’s actually a good manager.

Personally Thomas Frank if we had any common sense to repair the mess we are in.

Plays good football and does get the youngsters through the ranks with Lallana helping him in the U21’s.

Because they employed Spors, they employed Parsons, they employed , Selles, employed Juric & Jones, they stuck with Martin, they fucked over Ralph, the led a transfer window which bought relegation the first time round

I think we need someone with huge sporting integrity, a Gerrard\Parker, to win over players, fans and any potential signings.

As well as being a very good manager for our level, he gives a decent press conference and the media like him so it’d get them back on side. If there’s any chance he’d come here, he’d be my choice.

I appreciate his approach and attitude. The media like him etc and I think he has merit in certain scenarios.

But his managerial record is pretty poor. He ends up at struggling teams which skews the stats a bit. But I've never felt he was a consistently good manager and proven it when given the chance.

Very happy to be proven wrong. But I still believe we'll end up with a nobody. SR simply do not know anything about football or what is needed.
