I’ve never been ITK and I’m not sure whether I am now but I was told today that JWP is on his way back to Southampton. Don’t know if he’s a purchase or a loan. Two sources - 1 from someone linked to club and 1 linked to JWP.

Am happy to be proved wrong.

Heard anything more on this over the weekend?

I would guess that JWP will most likely be moving at the very end of the window. West Ham will look to get rid, but want to not give him away, and he/his agent will be looking for the best deal possible. We may have reached out to him or his agent, or the other way around, but I doubt anything concrete is just around the corner.

Hopefully we can cement a deal sooner than that...

We need a starting quality striker bright in soon, otherwise we will be starting with Downs, BBD and/archer 😫

Send in the Downs...

It reinforces what I thought.

He’ll be useful helping us get good aggregate scores  in two leg cup ties.

We're clearly a long way off anything getting set in stone at this stage, but I think it's worth pointing out that signing him would put our squad on a solid footing going into the new season. I think it would put us right in the mix in the battle for promotion.

Re: Downs... No doubt he'll be bricking it in front of goal again

He'd never get passed Bree's blocks

Stop plastering the board full of JWP rumours and references.

When his decision is made, these posts will all be rendered redundant.

If JWPs return is set in concrete, we can build on it and it could cement his legacy at St Mary's. Keepers will be bricking it over his rock solid free kicks. We should look to build the team around him, as he will help the structural integrity of the side. If he becomes a cornerstone of the team then the reconstruction of the squad will be fully set.

Seems like we're in the mix(er) for him though

We could probably develop a formula related to number of puns and any rumours or even ..shock horror.. actual concrete news. [Whoops that wasn't intended!]
