AlexLaw76 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Selling him at any cost will certainly be a huge factor in remaining down. after this season, that is that for a generation 1
Toussaint Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 10 minutes ago, Dman said: More fool you in that case I'd say. If a bigger club comes in and pays the money, he'll be off (as would probably everyone in our squad) How does that make me a fool, hoping one of our best players will stay? There has barely been any mention of THB going, there has been plenty of mention of him staying? I would prefer it that, as one of our best players, he stays. We have just lost two of our best players, I think promotion this season is already going to be more of a challenge than a lot of people are expecting.

hypochondriac Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 24 minutes ago, Dman said: Its obvious that every player has their price. I wouldn't be surprised if we've said if a club at x level come in for you and offer us y, you can leave. As nice as it sounds to turn down offers, if we stop him from going to a top club in the europa leauge (assuming he wants to go), we don't then get the next THB through the door. I don't disagree but we could just say you can go with our blessing next season if we fail to go up. 1

hypochondriac Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 31 minutes ago, Toussaint said: Not the denial I was hoping for... Adam Blackmore has been clear all summer that we won't be standing in the way of the players who have been here longer than a season (Charles and THB.) I do think he will go but I was hoping it might be less likely given it's so close to the end of the window. Tbh I'd have preferred him to go in the first few weeks if he's off. 1

pingpong Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Looks like Messi might be retiring, so if we were waiting for him, we should move on to the next target.

The change and disruption will be huge. as I said, not going up this year will probability mean we stay down for a very long time, like most other sides before us, including Coventry. So the team that over the last 25 games (with this manager) that won more points than anyone isn't good enough to go up? Get a grip lad. If THB is sold then I would expect that a more than capable replacement is lined up. Quarshie not really being used in pre-season suggests hes nowhere near being a consideration so we probabaly need two CB in reality if THB is sold. 1

Miltonaggro Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The Benfica THB talk is nonsense. Their record fee was for Rios last year €25m and they moaned like fuck about that. Solak said the only time he would consider bids for key players would be ‘if they make me fall out of bed’ so he would likely want to double his money on Bellis - circa £40m. 4

His energy is greater and I feel his reading of the game and positioning is already good. He is developing quickly, and although we dont know where his development will end I can forsee a very high class footballer with lin a couple of years. Totally agree. Cam Bragg is really very good.

What is he supposed to say? He's obviously for sale for the right price, it's just if anyone is prepared to pay what we would want. I don't think it's a coincidence that the media interviews this summer have been from Stephens, Manning, Larin and Downes.
Saint Pete Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 8 minutes ago, Toussaint said: Agreed It probably is, but Alfie could have done a better job in shutting it down in my opinion. It's not really his "job" to do that though to be fair?! He's not an employee of the club. What he's reporting is the bid is way below what the club value THB at, so they certainly won't be selling at that price or even near it. It's not his job to say we won't sell him at any price if that's what you want, unless someone at the club has explicitly said that, which they haven't.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the media interviews this summer have been from Stephens, Manning, Larin and Downes. Pretty sure Blackmore said in one of his shows this summer that after speaking to Solak in Slovenia, he had shared that Charles and Harwood-Bellis could go with his blessing this summer if there was an opportunity they wanted to pursue and the offer is acceptable, because they've been here for a few seasons and been good servants to the club, haven't caused the club issues etc.

That was widely interpreted to be THB and Charles which I think is likely true. Whether that will still be the case with maybe a week of the window left I don't know. I hope not! HarvSFC Posted 22 minutes ago Posted 22 minutes ago To be fair, we don't really want a local journalist categorically saying a player isn't for sale, only for them to be sold weeks later... 3
DT Posted 21 minutes ago Posted 21 minutes ago Got a funny feeling THB will go, so I hope we have eyes on a decent centre half and are not relying on Jack Bloomin' Stephens (his real middle name). THB does pitch in with a few goals too, so hope that we don't miss those and Shea's...

If you listen to Adam and Joe there is a lot of suggestions that he will be off.
