Pathetic that we are in a situation where we've been left so short in that position.

Bragg has looked really good in limited minutes. Not sure why he hasnt been give more of a chance to step up.

finally got it over the line. Good late substitutions by Tonda, after a poor first half.

Mubama took his chance well, and Sam Edozie DAJFU to win the penalty.

3 points at home. good stuff.

Yet again, this TBH and THB stuff is really screwing up my dyslexia. I'll be fine once he's gone 😄

Took me a while to straighten out the exact difference between THB and GHB.

Sulking?

Looked like he couldn't give a shit during the KK applause, stood looking at the ground chewing gum. Bit disappointing.

Not sure why Bragg has fallen a little out of favour. I can’t remember a scenario last season where Bragg was overlooked for Matsuki, but it’s happened at least a couple of times this term.

What did Stoke do to get a draw or win?  Is Bree your whipping boy this year that’s another game you have had a pop at him. Stokes  best player came down his side yet created very little in 90 because Bree defended well and did simple things well,

what would Welly offer at moment considering not done much pre season?

Our win was good but a lot down to Stoke not going for it.

We need a Wanyama type in midfield to let the good players like Azaz play.

Wood can defend but not a ball playing defender he was good today.

Scienza had a shocker and Dobbin did more in 5 than he did all game.

I know but not intentionally, just that I expected more of him than he has shown so far. He may be under orders to stay back but where are those over-lapping runs taht characterised his play last season. Stoke switched their left winger to the right later on so maybe that was a trbute of sorts to Bree for preventing him getting to the bye line and putting in crosses.

Can we agree he could do better?

I think he has been hampered by what’s in front of him although I thought defensively Fellows did well just need to find 10% more attacking wise.

We play with 2 wingers and our full backs main priority should be defend.

If we get Wanyama type central midfielder  we could release him more and more control as we look vulnerable to breaks behind full backs and middle.

Happy with the result, there’s still a hell of a lot of work to be done though. Quite a few players don’t look completely fit, not sure what Tonda’s thoughts were when he said he gave our players an extra week off to reflect on spygate etc but I think that combined with some lesser opposition pre season has left us a little off the pace.

Just got back from the game - a nice and unexpected 3 points as the game looked to be ending in a 1-1 draw.

Performance wise, pretty poor in all honesty. First 10 minutes up to Cyle’s well taken goal were decent. Rest of the first half and most of the second were quite honestly awful. Really turgid, slow, boring football. Nobody seemed to want to run, awful slow passing out from the back going nowhere, no one could make a decisive pass either. It really was boring sat watching it.

For me Matsuki and Fellows were decent, at least looked like they were trying to make things happen. Stephens was okay and solid, Woods looks like a mechanical toy, everything is so slow and methodical with him. Maybe lack of match practice and his thinking and touch will speed up a bit.

Scienza was a million miles off the game and seemed a shadow of his self.

Last 7 minutes were obviously very good! Mubama looked sharp, quick, and took his chance nicely. Well done him - more of the same please. Dobbin also injected some pace, I believe he will also become important for us this season. Credit to Tonda for the subs, won us the 3 points.

Downes was very good again, but he needs a proper DM partner in midfield with him. Hopefully Jander isn’t too far away - we so need him back.

Azaz was looking to make through passes (eg for Cyles goal) but so little movement ahead of him. Players all seemed sluggish and lethargic to me.

Not sure what happened with their goal, we seemed to have enough bodies back but they appeared unmarked in the middle of the box ( no replay shown at the ground for their goal).

So great result, about 17 minutes of excitement and 70 odd minutes of pedestrian, boring crap. Tonda has got to get them moving the ball forward quicker, making runs into space to stretch the opposition.

We will need to be much better v Millwall next week, Stoke were pretty limited and came close to nicking a point, which shows how much we need to improve.
Anyway, onwards and upwards 🤞🤞

Few injuries too with Azaz only just back and Jander out. Larin only really had two or three weeks since coming back. With no Charles we can’t make effective subs in CM and no THB today either that’s the spine of the team really impacted.

Going to be a busy few weeks

Mubama looked sharp in the few minutes he was on and often wondered how much attention players take of the fans. With the Stoke fans singing "He's always offside,...." I liked the way he gave them a wave after he scored.

Makes you wonder what side we can put out on Tuesday in the Carabao, some of the main u21 names have left as well , can't really afford more injuries with Millwall and Birmingham to play (window slams shut whilst we're in Brum I think)

Long
Roerslev - Quarshie - Wood - Welington
Bragg - Matsuki
Edozie - Dobbin - Archer
Mubama

Can still put a decent squad out with basically a full rotation! Maybe Downes will want to play against Wham as well.

One of them being our next league game, bit challenge vs Millwall who have started superbly

Yeah I thought they’d blown their biggest chance last season and they’d be back towards mid table but they’ve picked up where they left off and we lost to them twice last season so we will need to be better next Saturday.
