Fellows on the left simply isn’t working. Sideways and backwards the theme of the half. No speed, no pace, no urgency. Not so much a rocket needed up their backsides at half time, more a ballistic missile. That was abysmal. Woah... calm down! It was pretty average, agreed, but we created a fair few half chances and looked ok. No need to burn the players on the stake just yet. 2
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 14:51 Posted yesterday at 14:51 Matsuki already stripped and ready to come on. Only three minutes into HT. 1
steve green Posted yesterday at 14:51 Posted yesterday at 14:51 Most entertaining bit so far is the local ads from Bolton, Christmas sorted. 2
die Mannyschaft Posted yesterday at 14:51 Posted yesterday at 14:51 Boring, too much passing. Why cant we dribble past last man and shoot. Mind you a point is better than nothing. Lucky save by Peretz as ball moved last second. We should be going for it but hopefully a change 2nd half.
Saint Fan CaM Posted yesterday at 14:52 Posted yesterday at 14:52 The tactic might work if we weren’t as slow as a slug in the build-up. 64% possession and no next to no shots on target tells you everything about the first half. Scienza should have scored though - poor from him. 2
obelisk Posted yesterday at 14:52 Posted yesterday at 14:52 Ball over the top to runners is a good plan against this high defence. Just needs to work once really. 3

Also when Bolton are playing a flat back 5 high line and the whole match is played in their third what do you expect in the way of forward passes?!

Dobbin has the pace for it to work. Does he have the finish? Scienza certainly doesn't seem to at the moment. 2
qwertyell Posted yesterday at 14:54 Posted yesterday at 14:54 Spors has fucked us until at least January by not signing a viable striker alternative to Larin. One injury or one loss of form away from having to improvise with an out of position winger/10 is appalling squad planning. 5
hypochondriac Posted yesterday at 14:54 Posted yesterday at 14:54 (edited) Average half. Still a lot of time to get the win. Keep the faith. Edited yesterday at 14:55 by hypochondriac 1

He would be entitled to question our set up, wouldn't he. Fellows on the left and Scienza the right isn't working. Azaz not playing the 10 role. Bolton playing a high defensive line but not pressing in our defensive half.....they are there for the taking. Needs sorting out. Jander on sooner than later for Bragg; Matsuki or Edozie for Fellows please. 2

Just reckon your knees are jerking all over the place, if I'm honest. I also think you'd be one of the crowd that would be moaning, groaning and shouting at the players when a move doesnt come off. An anti-supporter, I like to call them. 2 1
NewYorkSaint Posted yesterday at 14:57 Posted yesterday at 14:57 Keep the faith. If we get the first goal, more will follow. My main delight this first half was seeing how crucial a role JWP is playing. The midfield combo of him, Jander, Bragg and Downes is what will get us promoted.

Edmonton Saint Posted yesterday at 15:00 Posted yesterday at 15:00 Fellows had some nice moments but let it down every time with a shocking final ball. Zero composure when it really matters 1

Saint_clark Posted yesterday at 15:02 Posted yesterday at 15:02 (edited) Who came off for Matsuki? Edit; cheers tdmickey! Edited yesterday at 15:03 by Saint_clark

saint michael Posted yesterday at 15:05 Posted yesterday at 15:05 Baz keeping a clean sheet at st mary’s will be rarity
Disco Stu Posted yesterday at 15:05 Posted yesterday at 15:05 Been on M27 for 2 hours. Kids playing football on the road. Doesn't seem I've missed much so far.

Saint_clark Posted yesterday at 15:08 Posted yesterday at 15:08 This rule change is bullshit. Schlotterbeck gets fouled after the corner is taken so he makes us retake it instead of giving the penalty.

Mr X Posted yesterday at 15:10 Posted yesterday at 15:10 Azaz wanted too much time there should have shot first time
Saint_clark Posted yesterday at 15:10 Posted yesterday at 15:10 Nice to hear the fast paced OWTS for once.
John Boy Saint Posted yesterday at 15:10 Posted yesterday at 15:10 Our fishy friends one up from the spot. Locals not happy
Saint Marky Posted yesterday at 15:10 Posted yesterday at 15:10 Well that was a waste of a day, just got on to the m27 and hit the standstill, didn’t move for ages, then the police eventually let us turn round to go down the slip road, but Google said it was 1 hr 30 to get to St Mary’s, so just got home, so bloody annoying. Both lanes shut, so must have been something bad happened, anyone got any info?
BotleySaint Posted yesterday at 15:10 Posted yesterday at 15:10 We don't look dangerous enough lately.

obelisk Posted yesterday at 15:12 Posted yesterday at 15:12 This has every chance of turning into a shambles.
BotleySaint Posted yesterday at 15:12 Posted yesterday at 15:12 We need to get a grip here. Bolton haven't been a threat but you sense they'd only need 1 goal.
Mr X Posted yesterday at 15:13 Posted yesterday at 15:13 Hmm only a matter of time for Bolton I feel if we continue being slow to react defensively
Sheaf Saint Posted yesterday at 15:14 Posted yesterday at 15:14 Dobs should hit the target there. No excuse.
SfcPhil Posted yesterday at 15:14 Posted yesterday at 15:14 Do our lads remember how bad Baz was? Just get a few one target and half of them will go in.. isn't rocket science. Still plenty of time yet. 3
