Pompey Takeover Saga

According to The Snooze, they are poised for their biggest attendance since their 1-1 victory over Southampton all those years ago.

How is that possible? Have they extended the ground? I assume the bestest sell out “The Old Girl” every week?

It would appear, for all their bluster, that they only sell out when their bigger neighbours are in town.

Who’d have thought?

smiles all round, what a start to the festive season for both our sides.:smug:
Only a third of a smile Mack, you won and Liverpool are 4 points clear at the top.

Happy Christmas to you btw

Funny , I had a text from a Pompey mate who hasn't mentioned football for 4 seasons lol

They will be a force in the Championship. 2 seasons till the real south coast derby

Lol, as mentioned 5 years ago on this very thread, their natural level with stadium size and support is mid-table Championship, and they'll be lucky to be in play-off contention if they get back there. They're not even the biggest club in L1 this season.

As for the possible Cup result, they came to us in 2010 when they were worse than we've EVER been in the Premier League, and up to their balls in debt. Even then their short-lived Prem mercenaries, who they signed under transfer embargo, eventually got around to beating our legendary League One side with daylight, after a bit of a struggle. Last season when we were utter gash and in Hughes' first game with nothing resembling a midfield (it was Hojbjerg and Lemina both apparently playing in Wigan's half), we still comfortably beat the L1 leaders away.

There's just no comparison if we stick the first team on the pitch. Their best player is a mid-table Championship team reject.

yer summat your lot seems to be having difficulty with,:smug:[/quote

We do indeed but the standard of opposition is light years ahead of yours in the third tier,

look forward to the championshipand then you will see your "quality" in a true light.

Happy New Year Skate

you are correct, we are a third tier team, and we're doing ok in this divison,

you on the other hand are meant to be a prem team so the opposition should not be "light years" ahead of you,

Happy new year, scummer,

Not all of them are you silly skate but man city certainly are

Just to be clear as you are a bit dim, I said our opposition are light years ahead of your opposition.

You will likely find that the championship opposition will be a fair way in front of you lot too

assuming you don't fuk up from here

They're pulling away a bit from Luton. Sunderland still have a couple of games in hand though...

Wouldn't it be great if they ended up finishing 3rd and failed in the play-offs? I know the footballing gods have spoilt us this decade but one final hilarious moment before 2020 would be nice...

Jumped on Pompey at 16/1 in the summer

The large payout will certainly ease the pain.

Championship is a whole new ball game and they will struggle without significant spending

Is that for them to win the league or for them just to be promoted ? It would be awful if these odds were for the title yet they got promoted as runners up or in the play offs. It would be lose / lose for Glasgow.

He’d see it coming a mile off and hedge every outcome. He’s a machine.

Will get about 2k for the title and just £190 if just promotion.

2 seperate bets.

Media coverage !!! You hardly hear a thing about them. Neil Allen award winning , where did that come from? Its not one of those awards by one of those companies that offer awards but you have to book a table at a dinner and awards get given out by any chance.
