Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 ...is apparently going to be brought in. Not sure how reliable my source is, he's never told me any gossip before, but apparently he's available on a free. I think he'd be a pretty good signing. Can definitely do a job, that's for sure. northam soul Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Certainly did the buisness for Swansea in this league but would be surprised if he was on a free.
Toadhall Saint Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Hmmm - There has always been speculation (every close season) re Trundle and Saints. I think he'd do a job for us.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Share Posted 3 August, 2009 he has a year left on his contract. Doesn't mean he's not available on a free transfer? As he doesn't get a game for BC, they're likely to want his wages removed.
saint-ross Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Lee Trundle would score goals for us if he signed - FACT :-)

Ewell Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Obviously not in Le Tissier's class but finally someone who may do the number 7 shirt justice. Sign him up I say. If we can also get a quick striker to play up top with him then I think we will have the makings of a very nice strike force.
Saintjersey Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 He would be good for this league, I reckon he could score 20 goals + for us.
itchen_dan Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 he joined leeds last year for a month in the january transfer window. if he is good enough for them, he must be worth a shot for us. Proven goalscorer? Something we've been lacking really... Could be one of the last pieces of our league 1 jigsaw?? "Lee is a proven goalscorer," said the boss. "He brings something a bit different, and he has a great track record. http://www.leedsunited.com/news/trundle-joins-on-loan-20090109_2247585_1514256
red&white56 Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 He would be good for this league, I reckon he could score 20 goals + for us. Bristol City paid £1 million (I believe) so it seems unlikely that they would let him go for free before his contract expires. However, he was on loan at Leeds this year so he's familiar with lge 1 - I wonder if this might be the first player to be bought under the new regime?? Hopkins Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 He's so over rated its unbelievable. Not say he wouldn't be a bad signing but other than Swansea, years ago, he's been shocking. Even at Swansea he was over rated because Soccer AM highlighted some awesome tricks he did. Could be alright, but he won't be the player everyone thinks he will be. He certainly doesn't score alot of goals.

ottery st mary Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Over weight and a total lack of fitness is a major concern..Get himself FIT..maybe. ...Like Skacel and several other Saints players.....MLT could carry the extra pudding with his sublime skills......There must be some forgotten/missed stars out there somewhere. Sour Mash Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Exactly the sort of player we DON'T need. We need pace up front (and throughout the whole team), can't see Trundle giving us that!

sambosa75 Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Would be a great signing. A player with a bit of skill, eye for goal, good experience and someone who builds good rapport with his fans. I'd be up for that.

Cabrone Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 I've always liked Trundle but is he as good as he was and would he accept a realistic wage?
