Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 Interesting decisions for NA at County as there is competition all over the park now. 2 from Hammond, Chaplow or Morgan - no idea who he'll pick or even if he'll go for all 3, as we're away. If it is a 2 man central midfield, 2 from Guly, Lambo or Barney. Or maybe even Bignall's pace to hit them on the break. 1 goal from open play from Rickie must mean he's under threat especially as Barnard looks like he reads what Guly is going to do better. 2 from Puncheon, Lallana or Oxo. As I say, interesting times selection-wise.

I doubt he'll be needed in a playing capacity. Hiiiiiiiii-larious! Still, it nearly made me consider signing up for the player. In the absence of any meaningful injuries then, I would start with Hammond and Morgan in the centre and Lambo and Barnard up front. Although it does seem harsh to drop Guly when he's only had one bad game. Maybe Barney should replace Lambert. Definitely keep Chambo as an 'impact player' for now and start with Puncheon
Smirking_Saint Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 Isn't Morgan banned now ?? 5 yellows ?? He must be close, i thought his tackle on sat pushed him over the edge ?? We should have more than enough to blow them away, also now Ince has been installed it must sealed their fate. I still have no idea why they sacked Short who was doing ok to appoint that dinlo. COYR&W&FOSOS Must win
K,Billy's supersound Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 i would make two changes from last game hammond in for chaplow and barnard in for guly. result 2-0 win will be lovely.

doddisalegend Posted 28 October, 2010 Share Posted 28 October, 2010 You mean the one that lost to Saints in 4 out of 4 games last season? We had a different manager then though and Ince had a different team. It's not the manager that makes the difference more that the Notts players will all want to impress the gaffer and play their best. I reckon it will be a draw 1-1. Lambert and Barney up front for me (on the basis that sooner or later they have got to click).

Saint Fan CaM Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 Big game for us - win and we're starting to look likely contenders. Lose and it's a significant set-back especially if 6 of the teams above us win. Think it will be 1-1 or we'll lose 2-1 to a last minute goal on the break as we're going for the winner. Everyone will be saying we played them off the park with lovely passing though.
West End Saint Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 I am looking forward to this 1 going up for only second away game of the season sounds like we are taking good numbers we really need to come away with 3 points if we can & we can get 3 points Tuesday we could well be in the top 6 and that is where we have to be. I would start barney and hammond otherwise as we were a bit unfair on guly & chappers but that is the team I would pick going for a 2 1 Saints win. Genk Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 These are the sorts of games we have lost in the past. If things have turned and we are going to pose a serious threat for promotion then we need to win games like these tomorrow. Unfortunately I can see Notts County being right up for it and beating us 2-0. Would love to be proved wrong!

Dagenham and Redbridge and Shrewsbury are of the same ilk, doesn't matter which he misses really, rather start with him tomorrow instead of Chaplow who isn't all that great in my opinion. Good point, although would still rather win in the league than the cup, even if they should both be wins. I thought Chaplow's passing was poor on Saturday. He gets his foot in well but that's not that much good if you give it straight back. FWIW I think if we can stifle County for the first 20 minutes, where they'll undoubtedly come out all guns blazing due to the supposed 'new manager syndrome', we should have more than enough to score a couple of goals and ultimately win the game. People talk about our attack a lot but we also have a very good defence and 'keeper and teams will find it very difficult to break us down when we're playing at our best. Jimmy_D Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 I'm predicting 2-0 Saints, as the new manager syndrome (which might work against them as it's Ince) fails to overcome their injuries. And a leap up to 7th in the table.
Appy Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 When saints win, it significantly improves my weekend mood. 3-1 Saints Lambert x2 Barnard x1. Ince sent to the stands. Seaborne OG, even we had to score their goals. COYR Ince is already in the stands, he has a touchline ban from his time at MK. A nice Chant of "You're getting sacked in the morning" to Mr Ince would be nice if we are winning comfortably.

craigthesaint Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 Well there will be one definite change tomorrow as Butterfield did not travel with the team this morning due to a thigh injury picked up in training so we may get our first proper viewing of Richardson who I am told looks the part on the training ground so really looking forward to seeing him if he starts. Joesaint Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 I think barney will love having Gully in the team just behind the strikers, because he is got so much energy and makes good runs, Gully plays people in great positions having great vision. I can't make my mind up about Guly he looked good against Tranmere but in fairness my mum would have looked good against the tranmere side that turned up at SMS. He is a bit hit and miss his passing can look woeful at times and he seems to pull ou of challenges and 50/50s a bit much for my liking on the other hand sometimes he gets stuff going just by chasing down a ball Lambert would never get near. SNSUN Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 My head has this one down as a draw, but there's no reason why we can't press on and win this. The new manager curse is a load of balls, our team is starting to gel and we have better players on every bit of the pitch than they do. After watching the Oldham game, my biggest concern was players not chasing the ball. It happened more in the second half, but not enough in the first, some of the players just expected the ball to come to them. Fight, and there's no reason why we can't beat the crud that we were drawing against away last season.

His passes look bad as he is playing well above his team-mates at this level. Make no mistake Guly is a class above, he chases down, shows great technique and i think after a goal or two will be a goal getter as well. Andy_Porter Posted 29 October, 2010 Share Posted 29 October, 2010 We need to start with Barnard upfront with Lallana, Guly and Chamberlain just behind. Then two from Puncheon, Chaplow, Morgan and Hammond behinf them. It's about time Lambert sat on the bench IMO, we can't spend all season hoping for him to come good when we have options like Barnard, Guly, Lallana or even Chamberlain who can all play upfront.
