Saints v Huddersfield build up

Cant wait for this game! Being a Student in Huddersfield, and having gone to the rubbish game up there, I badly want us to win this for obvious reasons. Feeling a bit more confident as they lost yesterday, and this Saints team should beat anybody on its day. COYS!

*edit...realised what COYS meant

Read the report of the Huddersfield-Hartlepool game. Seems that they were stifled by a young on loan keeper from Blackburn,

on form keepers do seem to be making it hard for everyone in this league. We'd have beaten Brentford easily if it wasn't for Lee.

i disagree, we were shi*e against Brentford. Keepers are there to make saves, strikers are there to score goals, our combined £2m+ goal keeper and strikerforce did neither, Brentfords loanees and frees did both.

Agree with that.. Even if we were very poor we still created chances..

Hit the woodwork twice

Had a blatant penalty turned down

And their keeper pulling off a couple of great saves

Being poor and creating chances is. Good sign if there is one

Losing 2-0 at home against a team you should beat comfortably is not.

I miss that holiday policy. Over here, if a national holiday falls on a weekend, you don't get the extra day.

but they don't get all that many public holidays compared to many countries. No national day, not many religious days,so you can't really complain if their bank holidays don't get docked for week-ends.

Just looking around, we should win this if their management team's research is as poor as their website team's!

Town's next game of their festive period sees them make the long trip south to face Southampton on Tuesday night; kick off 7.45pm

The Hampshire side have not won at home since the start of November and currently sit 11th in the League. On that day they comprehensively defeated Dagenham and Redbridge courtesy of goals from Lee Barnard, Rui Fonte, and a brace from young Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Southampton have an abundance of top quality players, however, Dean Hammond is a player that sometimes gets over looked.

He can be instrumental from the centre of the park and if Town can stop him playing then they may cut of one of the Saints main creative routes.

They also think that we will play without Fonte or Barnard in their predicted XI. :)

A repeat performance of this fixture last season would be perfect, but in reality it'll be a very tricky game.

Hopefully the players are raring to go after the enforced break due to the weather, but we must be wary of a Huddersfield backlash after their home defeat to Hartlepool on Boxing Day.

I'm going go for a narrow 2-1 win to Saints, with Lambert rediscovering some form and notching twice.

an absolute must win game. They will be faigued after playing and losing on boxing day and are there for the taking. IN fact anything less than 9 points from our games over new year is faliure,

Agree - anything less than 9 points from the Huddersfield game will been seen as relegation form.... ;-)

Was slagging off Adkins the other day with a group of mates and realised that he was sat behind us in Costa Coffee. Woops! Anyway this one is really important. Win it and our season is back on track. Lose and it is major crisis time.

That's f*cking hilarious mate!!! Bet you guys were laughing all the way home!!! Haha!

Was very amusing. Not sure if he heard but he was looking at us :). Gobern was sat at a table opposite him. When Adkins left I said I bet he was relieved, it must be like having your school teacher sat opposite you! Barnard went up to the unhealthy food court bit in West Quay but I didn't hang around to see if he sampled anything. Good times.

So what made you realise he was behind you? Was it when he slapped you across your head?
