Lallana out for few months?

This could well be true, but solent said they received a text message from someone claiming to be a friend of lallanas saying he will be out for this long. I could have texted that in, and I've never met the lad. Let's wait until we hear from the club. In Adkins interview he clearly said "we expect him back sooner rather than later".

3 months is "sooner" than 6 months...

Adkins said he (and Hammond) expected back sooner rather than later. Didn't give the impression that it was too bad to me. We can't really consider ourselves promotion material if we can't deal with losing 1 player - I'm not sure we can't deal with it, but if we can't then it makes a mockery of those saying we don't need to strengthen.

It is very worrying how lacklustre we appear without Lallana. We lack a cutting edge and resort to long ball at every opportunity.

If there is any truth to this, and assuming NC is pretty much insisting on promotion this year, then I can only assume that the owners and leaders at SFC will go out and use our comparitively strong financial position to purchase somebody who has the ability to do a similar - if not exactly the same - job as AL for the team. Logic suggests that this is the only reasonable course of action.

Jeez

we draw to day , and the wrist sliters are out in force on this thread and the post match thread

Seems a draw against a very good team is the end of our promotion hopes if we believe the comments on the forum tonght

PS if you are going to slit your wrist make sure you use the correct technique

Yes, I'm sure the associated active wrist movement is familiar to them.

The club will not know much more until Wednesday at the earliest. That is why I am saying it is pure speculation and so do his family.

This is clear. They have to wait for the swelling to settle before getting a meaningful scan.

But my feeling is that it does not look good.

Goodbye promotion.

We all know the reaction if I said this.

No, "the wrist slitting" is occuring because our midfield strength is evaporating before our eyes, and as has been said on here, Lallana is irreplaceable. Most people have taken todays draw on the chin.

Sounds quite a concern and todays performance when Lallana and Chaplow were out said it all for me - our promotion credentials will be significantly tarnished without those two. I was of the opinion we didn't need to strengthen with the squad we have, but watching Gobern today was painful - we urgently need more quality in midfield now or watch promotion slip away. If you think that's 'wrist slitting' it's not - it's showing genuine concern.

difference is, you say it week in week out, sooner or later you would be correct, but if any team had injuries to 2 of their top players (AL and RC) then they would too struggle to replace. your constant negativity is becoming a joke!

Well obviously losing 2 CMs out of 3 has a negative effect, it's not supposed to happen that way is it,but we can't keep good players on the bench just in case we have a bit of an injury crisis.Having said that Chaplow getting another injury (unless it's a minor illness)

is a bit disconcerting as he hasn't played all that much of late.

We need another attacking midfielder and another striker - Ryan Harley and Adam Le Fondre would do for me.

Today's game proved we still need a little bit more strength in depth.

It was 2 points lost today - unless Brighton mess it up we are in the race for second place. Today was our big chance to go top and we blew it - simple as that.

TBF they were garbage, albeit hardworking, not "very good" but I agree with your sentiments.

Two points.

1) Any team would miss Lallana. But we can win without him.

2) Chaplow was absent in the first half, Gobern was (I thought) a little better but both struggled against an effective Notts County.

3) Solent's speculation on Lallana's injury was from someone hanging around the Corporate suite who had a text from someone who knew Lallana. They described this as a 'good source' - horse**** - it is no better than a post on here. Even with Lallana out we should have enough to beat most teams in this league, but let's wait an see shall we.

Ok. So three points.
