Rovers Build up

There is, but I expect us to respond well. All good teams do - Beware brizzle....

With Hudders away at Charlton too things could look very nice on Saturday afternoon.

It's hard to know what to think of tonight's result, it's very frustrating but I don't feel it's doom and gloom. It's still very much on.

I think we think we are better than we are. That under the circumstances was a shocking performance. We arent that good guys. On sat we were battered second half. The centre of midfield is complete gash. I still think we can go up but we really arent that good.

Bit of a knee-jerk really.

Lets be honest, we were never going to win every game, we have won 7 out of 8, we had to lose sometime.

Hopefully this will act as a wake up call and galvanise everyone to concentrate and not get complacent.

It happened after Walsall beat us, I would hope for the same reaction now.

Come On You Saints !

Quite possibly...but not nesessarily completely wrong.

Pick ourselves up,dust ourselves down and get the points required.

Totally, as Adkins says...draw a line, and onto the next one.

Win that, couple of teams do us a favour and we're laughing. If we don't win on Saturday then that is the time to start worrying.

2-1 win, we scrape by with the diamond again. Rovers to score in the first half and hold out until half time. Lambert to equalise just after HT, Lallana to score the decider on 77 mins. Rovers hit the post with minutes left. I'd take that.

My heart wouldn't!

This game is even bigger now, not just because it's vital we win, but because it will show how well we bounce back from the first defeat in a while. Beat Rovers and last night is forgotten and the optimism and confidence will be back. Lose, and I really do fear the worst.

But why would we lose against Bristol Rovers?

Last night's performance is just a blip due to an excessive number of injuries and probably not getting it quite right at the start.

So as I understand it, we rocked up 15 mins before kick off, away, to a team on a really hot run of form, fighting tooth and nail to make the play offs, and lost 2-0 (partly due to a KD off day).

I see no reason why normal service can't be resumed at home to Rovers on Sat. So here's to a (hopefully comfortable) 2-0 win.

Let's not forget our frankly excellent run of form over the last few games due to a blip last night, we weren't going to go unbeaten for the rest of the season and Rochdale was always going to be a tough one.

Everytime we lose -

a) people seem to be more gloomy about our prospects in the next game

b) the team seem to put in a better performance in the next game.

Why do people continue to judge things on sole games? Especially this season, we bounce back well and quickly. I have no doubt we'll win Saturday and I'm more confident of that following a loss than I would have been following a win. Complacency is out the window, margin for error is reduced, focus is increased, we will win.

They're not "judging on sole games", they're aware that we have a load of injuries that limit our options, the team hasn't been performing particularly well for months despite the results, and we're just about scraping by most of the time.

We've been slightly better than the opposition too many times after looking poor early on, and each time we've got into a strong position with a match in hand we've wasted that game (Walsall, Rochdale) which smacks of a certain problem with motivation.

We're still in a good position, but I don't want us to have to be chasing someone else to pull out better performances, because we might just happen to find ourselves behind at the time when the 46th game finishes.

I really don't understand. A loss and suddenly it's 'so many players not doing it'. Haven't we just won 7 from 8 or something?

Misplaced passes ahoy in the MK Dons and Leyton Orient games, but we won so no-one's bothered. We did it against Rochdale and lost. Performances are similar, outcomes were different.

Oh, and can some please put the word "Bristol" in the heading, there are two teams called "Rovers" in this division alone, and plenty of others all over the Football League and Prem ?

Which Rovers are we playing next then? Being a build up fred and all that I thought it might have been apparent. or i hav i just taken some bait...?

My Rovers supporting mate is crapping himself. He said last night was the worst result for them, and i think he is right! 3-0 comfort win. 2-0 at h/t then another after 75

The point is that you can't tell who we're playing from the title, so what's the point of having it ?

So why not just call it "Build Up Fred" ?

I am delighted to have been worthy of your free ramblings.

Have just seen Morgan shopping in town, seemed able to walk fine. I guess he's back in light training?

Also saw several others from the team, including one Anthony Pulis, on his own though.

I think Morgan's main problem at the moment is changing direction, typical of medial ligament injuries. Most of them are cause by skiing,

especially when you're crap at it.He can run in a straight line, accelerate and slow down but changing direction rapidly probably isn't on.

No idea as to where the deep vein thrombosis could have come from, too many kicks in the calf maybe.

Clotting/circulation issues after surgery, possibly? Could be guff though.

Not sure that he's had any surgery, don't usually for medial ligament injuries,I'm not an expert though, cruciates usually need reconstruction, medials less so.There was a piece about him again in the DNA the other day, didn't mention any surgery.
