Adkins reaction to Brighton game

great afternoon for supporters

conollly such a class act

Brighton should be gracious in defeat and they are not, would not shake hands etc

fair play to them though, worthy champions

lallana back, played well in the "hole"

controlled first 30 mins

gave away silly passes

deserved victory

lallana best player in the league

brighton put their best team out

we still beat them on their own patch and they desperately wanted to win this

we did the business today

Always tinkering with the formation today to keep them guessing and play the game on our terms

all in our hands, always playing catch up with games

he sounded peed off at brighton at the end showing no grace in defeat and the reaction to their players showed that they really wanted to win that..so he does not believe they took their foot off the gas so to speak

top man

He doesn't just have a plan B, he has a plan c as well!

3 tactical changes today influenced this result. The one criticism i had for Pardew is we'd keep playing the same way even if it wasn't working, now we have a manger that's not scared to make a change or even 2.

I didn't get the impression that he was saying that Brighton should be gracious in defeat. I heard it more as his personal views and that you should always be gracious if you are defeated etc. This brief interview for me said a lot about Adkins and for me what came across is what a good, proper sportsman he is, i.e refusing to rise to all the baiting of him for his "if they can stay with us comments" and not getting into all that. It is amazing that what was a one off witty comment some months ago has aroused such ire from all of Brighton. Talk about losing perspective. NA kept his perspective today and for me, showed himself as a class act, principled and fair, an approach that I for one like. I also think it is more interesting to hear him talk like that than the repetition of his building, bus, chipping away etc buzzwords.

Well done Nigel, I think that he can continue to do great things for us.

I've just read on the Brighton forum that Adkins (after taking lots of stick during the game) chanted 'easy, easy' at the Brighton fans after our winner

I wonder if Poyet was a bit peeved

Who the hell can blame him after all the personal abuse that was directed at him from that side all game.

If they're dishing it out, surely they have to be prepared to take the banter when it comes flying back at them!?

very encouraging..as I recall Strachan only had one game plan.

What utter utter crap. I can't see him chanting that and besides, would he not get in trouble for inciting the fans?

Just another sore loser.

As metioned above, they may be champions, but they never beat us.

Apparently went ape **** at half-time kicking bins over and everything had a real fergie moment, must have worked tho.

That's really good to hear.

Totally puts to bed the **** about players not wanting to play for Adkins. I'd imagine alot of his emotion was driven from the brighton fans constant abuse at him too.

What a ****** !

"It was Brighton passing and playing football, not kicking the ball into the box" !!!!

Someone show the **** the video from their appearence at St Marys this season where their intent on playing football was NIL.

*****.

God I remember that game, their game plan revolved around stopping us playing football, time wasting and showing no ambition to win the game themselves. In fact I thought they were one of the worst teams we've played at home this year.

Can only assume the little **** didn't know which team was which. If Brighton are a good footballing side then I'm a monkey's uncle. They are a niggly, dirty little team that win games 1-0 and by slightly devious tactics. Fortunately for us we have several ways we can play, usually we play good passing football, but when the opposition demand it we can switch and play different tactics. NA is the first manager we have had for ages that has the nous to change tactics and formations not only from game to game but often several times within a game. Not something Pardew, Arry, WGS or even Hod were ever capable of.

Wrong ! Hoddle was a master tactician !

+1

very, very disappointed with that game - played as if they were bottom of the league, not top.

IF its true that they refused to shake hands then thats really poor. No idea what their feeling bitter about.

Recent "tradition" ala Man Utd & Chelsea last year, is that at the game following the winning of a league championship, the opponents line up and the winners come out through them. Saints didn't do it so Brighton didn't shake hands at the end.

I would say NA made that decision in the dressing room.

This.

Any respect I had for Gus Poyet and his achievements has now evaporated. Having watched bits of the Cardiff QPR match on TV today, which of the current teams would be best equipped to play them, Saints or BHA?

Gus, I anticipate a rude awakening for you next season - I shall even smile when you get spanked by P*mpey.

In an odd sort of way, my feelings towards Pompey actually mean I'd rather see them beat Brighton, than the other way around. I guess it's because I actually care about that rivalry and do want to see us and Pompey play each other, whereas I couldn't give two ****s about Brighton. If Pompey lost every game and were totally out of it, it would be no fun.

I now prefer NA over pards he has in the last 5-6 weeks seemed alot more passionate and honest in his interviews NA is the better man then GP he's at the better club going places and better record i believe and gracious in defeat unlike that foreign ****.

AP is a journeyman manager who rarely cares for his club. He negotiates a long contract on a high wage, cries when he doesn't get his way, ****s the players' wives and then gets a nice payout when he is asked to move on. That doesn't mean he doesn't get results and good performances along the way, but I don't believe he cares about any of the clubs he manages.
