Redknapp on Goals on Sunday

So now it appears he was getting fed up with the press speculation about getting sacked on a daily basis which is why he left QPR. He quickly added his knee hurt as it was winter, what a load of rubbish. 'No I did not bottle it.' He then goes on to explain how he rescued Pompey twice and Saints was always a difficult job. He added Sandro is now playing and this is a big difference, he was unavailable when he was manager. It is all about how good he is and how unlucky he was. I don't think he will ever admit to being an average manager! Not sure why the media love him so much?

Can't bring myself to watch him on anything. He has got to the stage where he lies about his own lies now.

"I'm leaving QPR because my knees can't take it anymore, I'm in agony, there's no other reason, I haven't fallen out with anybody" through to "people were against me, I didn't know who was on my side"

its just all bull**** every time he opens his mouth.

Coincidence they didn't have time to talk about our game (and possibly their times Southampton)?

The media has to retain him as their darling, so they cannot ever talk about his relegation's as manager. Not that it was his fault we got relegated, obviously. Probably his dogs or something.

he only ever briefly mentions his time at saints...never with any detail other than he had an up and down relationship with Lowe. he NEVER gets asked any meaningful questions about why he was pretty poor at St Mary's

The report of his interview the other day called him "Ex Tottenham and Portsmouth manager" We're totally expunged from his record I guess!?

I like watching him as I find it comical, same with Pochettino and his poor grasp on the english language so he gives really really boring basic answers in every interview

Pochettino is very comical! He ums and ahs over a word to the point you're expecting a moment of genius revelation, then it turns out to be something like 'ball'.

That'll do for me.

Spoke to a first team player under Arry. He Said it was a joke. Just did 5-a-sides most days training. No tactical briefings before any games. Someone should put him down.

Just listening to the Press Pass on Talksport.

Matt Scott was asked to comment about Redknapp being in the media this week and said he should "just shut up" and that no-one was interested. Paddy Barclay thought it was a bit harsh but could see where he coming from. The media losing their love-in with Harry?

and SotonJoe... you are joking right? Redknapp admitted his heart wasn't in the job after about a week, and basically gave up. Listen to the players who said they were sent out with no tactical instructions.

He was saying on BBC Five Live this afternoon how he liked to coach but found he couldn't do it anymore at QPR and had to leave it to others because of his knee, or was it because he didn't know who was with him or against him? I'm not sure, but he definitely said he liked to coach. For sure.

Personally, I don't understand the irrational hatred a vociferous minority of Saints fans have for Redknapp.

He gave his all to try and keep us up and failed on the last day. Time to move on.

Possibly you are right that these are not good reasons to hate Redknapp. However, as I explained on my blog, there are other, better reasons to think very little of him.

When Saturday Comes has nicely captured his hypocrisy:

"Harry Redknapp has resurfaced with various complaints about his departure from QPR. One of those was that "the club were in the papers every day... that got on my nerves". You could see how that would be distressing for a Sun columnist like Harry".

Well, he told the players they weren't good enough, signed a load of past-it players he knew from other jobs rather than necessarily better ones for the job, alienated some of the existing players and created rifts in the camp for no apparent reason, and showed pretty much no inclination to train them himself or take responsibility for any of his decisions (such as leaving out Phillips for the last match having trained all week with him in the starting line-up). Oh, and we also went into admin a few years after he left.

As that's what he does everywhere and he's definitely never failed anywhere else, apparently, that is clearly "his all".

Literally the only difference in the job he did at Saints and everywhere else he went was that Lowe controlled the chequebook, when everywhere else he got the ridiculous expenditure he wanted - and even that wasn't enough to keep QPR in the Prem 2 years ago. When it was obvious he wasn't getting to spend like a loon this time, he walked away, remembering to limp when there was someone looking.

Mostly hate him cos he came from the skates took us down the went back to them. Plus the tax dodging spending fortunes on old mercenarys and generally being a c***

I reckon you could probably slip "doos" under the swear filter

Harry Redknapp wants a return to management after recovering from his knee problems. Made up injuries are easier to recover from, to be fair.
