Because British coaches can't work with Dutch players?

No because he's suddenly being allowed to sign players from his home country (admittedly prob free transfers) Lowe obviously has faith that hes going to turn things around and that he will he will be sticking with poorvliet for the remainder of the season

VI report it in Holland as a done deal.

Good signing in my opinion. He's a real leader and before he joined Roda he had a few successful relegation battles with ADO Den Haag so he's sort of familiar with the situation. Not sure if he's 1.90m but he's quite tall and he's got good composure on the ball. In the Netherlands he always scored a few from corners so hopefully he'll do the same here.

Thanks Martini that sounds encouraging, I'm surprised we haven't tried this avenue before. He CANNOT be any worse than Lancashire who really is Sunday League standard - Perry was doing his nut V Man U as he had to do his work and Ollie's and Perry isn't 21 anymore although glad we have him. Lancashire should be loaned to Eastleigh, he wouldn't even cut it in the Conference with Nick Holmes and Salisbury.

I wonder which pessimistic and cynical wag will be the first to point out that we don't win enough corners in the first place for this to make a difference.....doh....

He looks like a big animal which is what we need though. A few more at RB, CM and CF would help as well, wonder if Arsenal want to buy Morgan S yet? It certainly beats having to put 10 pansies out.

Is is just me, or does he look a lot like Claus?

See what you mean and the good on the ball description from Martini fits that as well. If he's signed that's good, he really cannot be worse than what we've been using. We should have 3 or 4 of the best youngsters in the side and the rest should be players like this given our relegation fight.

1.90 is around 6'1½ ..to be precise, and at 81 kg. he's not overweight either.

he seems to have been playing regularly -even andd even got a few goals.

if it wasn't top level stuff and one assumes that his Dutch wages weren't too high either. Let's hope he gives some stability to the back line.

Stupid statement.

I assume you had similar comments on Crouch (before he came good),

Bennett (before he came good), Williams (before he came good) etc. etc.

Lancashire is not Sunday League standard and to suggest so says more about you than it does about him. There might be an argument that he is not yet ready for the Championship, week in week out, he's certainly no match for Man Utd's strikers, but I think he stands a chance of becoming a good footballer.

Will he play for Arsenal or Chelsea, probably not - but are we Arsenal or Chelsea?
