So the meetings appear to continue, much is being done and much has been talked about on here. The silence sends a signal

Time for a Poll.

Simple facts we have a precarious position in the League and then with our finance.

It would be difficult to offer a long-term contract.

We have no funds for compensation so it needs to be an unemployed manager

The cost of the right man versus the cost of releagtion is irrelevant, as the pacakge can be inflated by results based bonuses.

We need to have a new man in place before the middle of next week

So, on the basis that we need an INSTANT improvement in our tactics and probably stamina and, who would YOU nominate as a short term manager until the end of the season.

If we get enough nominations could we have a poll?

For me simply because the feel good factor would push us far enough up the table and to get the arguments going

realistic possibilites for the poll

ince

admas

dowie

boothrooyd

cotterill

holloway

Who is this Admas who people keep going on about? He any good? ;)

I would love to have any of those managers here, but that won't happen. If Jan does get the sack (touch wood) then we'll have Wotte and/or Hockaday in charge. Personally i'd love to have Ian Dowie here, as a former Saint himself we already have an affinity towards him, and he's shown that he's a decent manager at this level. Didn't he take Palarse from being in a similar position to us to the top half of the table a few seasons back? Would be a quality manager imo.

maybe looks good but most of these have been sacked from teams not performing much better than we are.........and besides they'd never work for peanuts as it seems JP is doing.

He seems to have some pride, he's carrying the can and I don't think he's openly criticised his players after bad results - has he ?

AT least the man is showing some honour, meantime *arry is blaming all his big money Spu*s team for everything and everyone except the Groundsman !

Dowie, Boothroyd or Ince would be fine!!!

Dowie ---to ugly (has failed everywhere he has been)

Boothroyd---Plays awful football ala Branfoot

Ince ----Not sure he is up to it quickly enough.

We would need to hit the ground running.

With that in mind.

Peter Taylor

Stuart Pearce

Steve Cotterill

Mickey Adams

Roy Keane

Or

More radical .

Glyn Snodin back as caretaker

In his comments after Saturday's match he seemed to be blaming the fans, saying they were putting the players under too much pressure. And when he's not doing that his statements never amount to more than "I can't understand why this is happening." Hardly showing pride or carrying the can.

Alan Curbishly - remember what he did at Charlton? 2nd tier team into a proper family premiership club - and 1 of the most clubs respected in the country. I support Southampton because I know we will once again be a great, well respected family club. The similarities between us and Charlton are endless. Get Lowe out and find someone who is willing to spend top dollar and put trust in the most important man in any football club - the manager...

...and that's us sorted for the next 10/15 years :)

Of those mentioned I think only Boothroyd,Dowie or Cotterill might make an immediate impact that we need.Longer term I don't think they are such a great option though.

Would ideally like one of the above three until the end of the season, and a review of it then depending on how they get on and possible availability of say Tisdale to build it up.

ok who voted for JP?

I am sure we could get at least one win at home without a manager!

LOL.. not funny but I think you could put Sammy the dog mascot in and get more than one home win for the rest of the season... and he'd be free! Lowe's next managerial appointment?...

Well back from the pub & I've given it some thought (sponsored by Bullfrogs)

Somebody who can get our squad fit again

Somebody with tactical nous

Somebody not afraid to make tough decisions

So anyone from the judging panel of Strictly Come Dancing

or Alan Curbishley

Dowie is just sooooo not built for TV
